Just wondering if anyone out there is going to USU and what their opinions are. I'm a junior in hs and looking to apply to USU, probably in the engineering program (which i've heard is great). I was also wondering what there is to do for fun etc. Thanks!
 
I dont know a TON about the school, but it is a good engineering program and there are a surprisingly good amount of kids that I have partied with from the school. Why not the U though man?
 
Pretty much any school but UofU and Westmini in utah are not that good, im sure there are great people there but SLC is the place to be in utah. Im sure the U's engineering program is alot better than USU's.
 
if you're not mormon you'll hate it. i've heard it's just as bad as byu. the u is your best choice for engineering.
 
both my parents went to BYU, so they are sort of biased against the U. I wouldn't mind going there, since it's so close to park city, snowbird, all the good resorts. But they really prefer that i don't go there, and USU seems like a great school. and i don't really want to go to BYU
 
School aside Salt Lake City is the best place in Utah to live if you're going to school. There is way more to do in SLC than in Logan. Utah academically is better than Utah State and will carry more clout out of state as well. For the money you might as well be a place you will be the most happy since classroom instruction is only a small part of going to college.
 
You just have to spin in it the right way. I met some really great people at this ward in slc... I want to be closer to the convention, tabernacle choir just makes me feel closer to God, etc
 
If you are mormon you'll like it, everybody is really nice here and there are some fun activities and stuff but if you are not... you will need to find the good people to hang out with and its hard, and even if you find them its still hard to find good parties every weekend. the engineering department is pretty good but again is you come here to have fun (non mormon way) you might be disappointed and Logan is far from SLC if you want to go to PC or Alta and all the resorts around its a 2h drive and 1h from snowbassin...
