Utah road names

They use numbers for streets and each 100 is a block away from center. so 7200 N would be 72 blocks north of wherever the center is, and same thing with east/west. Kinda wacky, but it can make it pretty easy to find places without a map if you need it.

Grid system, basic foundation for any city infrastructure, SLC/utah in general just kept the numbers.

That's nuthin, I use to live on 2nd street and what's even weirder is the next street over was fucking 3rd street.

the valley is based off of the grid system but towns elsewhere use regular street names or a blend of the grid system. where I live, all of our street names are numbered like 4th street or something or named. Farmers dont fuck with that grid system lol

Welcome to the SLC grid system. You will hate it until it clicks then you realize how brilliant it is. Its nice to know you just need to go like 4 blocks over and 5 up to find something.

I’m sure it’d be cooler if I knew how to count. I usually get to around 7 and forget what comes after that.

I would rather just spend years committing to memory that James street is after Cherry street. I mean come on

nah i thought its cuz u are 7200 blocks/streets away from the Mormon church

72 blocks, probably south, of the mormon temple downtown. that also doesn't take into account the number of blocks east/west
