Utah not getting enough snow

Last year at this time Utah had over 80" already. Right now it snowed 40" and the bases are around 30". Looks like christmas week only half the mountain will be open.

i don't live out west, im going there for christmas break. And I really want powder and the entire mountain open while i am there.

we're suppossed to get 18 inches from monday morning thru the night, not including lake effect so hopefully we'll get some more from that. i'm not sure about tuesday...

that is not true... at least not in Park City

at this time last year the resort wasnt even open yet... at all

its dumping here at my house now in WA and i just went skiing yesterday in some fresh powder, but maybe i should stfu before i jinx it

ya i know it sux but tonight threw next wednesday its sapose 2 dump! maybe then i can try out my new skis and not worry about rocks instead of using my old crappy pair

can't believe all these west ppl are bitchin about what there actually skiing on or how much snow there skiing on you guys normally have good seasons east coast is disappointed every year

You're right, I should be happy about skiing on grass for 1.5 miles a couple days ago because there was 3" of snow on it. I think we have every right to complain about a nonexistent early season.

ya i guess thats true since we are skiing on a couple hundered inch base by the end of the year :D and our resorts dont close till april and open november/october

at least you were skiing and at least you usually have an early season... i would do anything to ski down any kind of snow, hard ice or anything

I know this is worrying me a bit becuae we are going to be out there promoting, passin out some swag, and hope skiing some cold smoke. But it has not looked too good as of yet, but Utah gets many of the storms that Southern California does, I think the jet stream will drop down a little further south in a couple weeks then the storm window opens, and Some major dumps should happen. (I hope!)

ditto to that.

most of the mountains around here have received around 100" already this month, while baker is just being unreal

the base of my mountain has man made snow. i can put my skis on and skate to the lift but once im there the snow runs out so i have to turn around and skate back to the parking lot.

Theres a heavy snow warning for most of northern and eastern utah right now... maybe your just wrong

word pc wasnt even open yet man, i dont even think brighton was open yet or atleast it was very close to this time when it did open up. n e ways shut the fuck tho atleast you have snow majority of us dont or enough worth mentioning.

Let me look out my window, and check the thermometer...

Oh, that's right. It is 52 degrees out at 8:30 in the morning. And it's been that way since early last week, and isn't supposed to get cold until Friday.

And we won't have skiing within 6 hours from where I live for another 2 weeks likely.

That's at least 2 weeks behind schedule.

I really don't want to hear bitching from anyone who has a hill that is open within reasonable distance.

last year i went out to lake tahoe, and the week after i went they got that huge storm with like 19 inches in an hour or whatever it was. some stupid amount

this year im going to utah, hopefully they will have snow by mid january
