Utah Meteor!

So last night Kiki and I went up to guardsman's pass to watch for meteors fallin from that outside space. Around 12:15 or so we were heading back down the canyon when all of a sudden the sky lit up. I mean, full on "god took a picture of SLC with the flash on" status. Immediately followed by what looked like a moon sized asteroid hurdling towards earth complete with long firey tail. I was convinced 2012 came early via moon rock. Today I saw that in fact this was a meteor. Crazy! Anyone else see it? I couldnt believe it happened when it did. Kiki and I had front row seats, lucky!

so sick. once in a lifetime experience for sure. I only got to see the light through our windows but even that was real sick

soo sick- ive always seen the showers but never something like that- reminds me of when the shuttle takes off near my beacjhouse in fl- the sky lights up and like a min later the sonic boom hits

Looks like day

This meteor landed about 250 miles from the place of video and i saw the light all the way from about 350 miles in the other direction fucking crazy. my aunt's house is only about 20 miles from the landing and she said it was solid day light for 5 seconds then the ground shook a little bit.

why would it be any different? they are doing the same thing. They are entering earth's atmosphere, the meteor is just coming in faster and it is larger

Here in Edmonton, Alberta we had like the same thing happen a year ago I think? They found most of the pieces and the biggest one was worth like $250,000-300,000 and the people ended up donating it to the UofA
