USU and Logan, UT?

OK, so what's the dirt on Utah State and the city of Logan, UT? Could anyone share some info on living there, the Mormon factor, outdoor stuff, quality of life / school, skiing / riding, and so on? From what I could tell from surfing the Web, it appears to be a really fun place to live, but I'd like any local insight you guys/ gals might have.

Thanks in advance.

I lived in logan for almost a year and I loved it. Made tons of friends, skied the beav, tubed canals through the canyons, golfed, and got wasted every time. Its pretty chill but its gets old like everywhere else.

Didnt go to school there tho

If you're going to school in utah, just go to U of Utah or Westminster, much better schools, way closer to the mountains and a lot more people.

Apparently it is the perfect amount of partying. And there is stuff going on every single night. My cousin goes there right now.

Logan has decent vibe and USU is pretty legit. It began as one of the first land grant experiment colleges in the U.S. so it is a treasure trove of environmental information. From dendrology to agriculture and animal science they have programs that are 100+ years old and still growing.

The rest of Cache Valley on the other hand smells like shit, the air is full of noxious fumes, there is shit everywhere and tons of cops.

The closest resort is beaver, which actually has some good terrain and a fun big air event. Logan is also close to bear lake, the biggest natural fresh water lake in the state. There are mormons so you might get cookies/brownies on your doorstep, but they won't bother you if you involve yourself a little in the community.

Logan is a really chill place to live! I can't comment on college related activities, but it's not too hard to find stuff to do. Outdoors wise, there are some good hikes just up Logan Canyon. Beaver Mountain is a 35-45 minute drive depending on who you're behind going up. The whole Mormon factor isn't super overpowering if you don't let it bug you. Most of my friends who are Mormon are just like other people, they just go to church on Sunday. Overall, Logan is a really enjoyable place to live, not forever though.
