Using "

Using the "left carrot" character in posts hides everything that follows it until a "right carrot" is placed.

This glitch is somewhat annoying if you've ever tried to "left carrot" + 3 to make a heart in posts (fuck yeah I did)

I presume this is because the character is part of the HTML code, but perhaps it could be modified only to disappear the text when placed in context of a valid HTML tag?

that or this is just a warning to others who want to use the "left carrot" + 3 figure

We had to completely strip the tags because people were trying to insert all kinds of crap into their posts and messing up the forums.

you can always use "& l t ;" (without spaces) for < though if you really want
