Using songs that were in Ski Movies?

If the edit is done right, it is possible to get away with it. I have seen some really dope edits on here of songs that were used in Refresh and EDIAS that turned out well. Thoughts on this?
 
I have seen some good edits with music from ski movies, but sometimes it just gets over done like Take a minute - Kaan. Great song in Dane Tudor's part in EDIAS, saw some really good edits with it... and then everyone used it in all there like little shitty backyard edits. Just got killed...

Yes though it can be done.
 
it cant/should not be done. no matter how much better the edit is than the movie segment. just find something original, there is enough good music out there that this really shouldnt be an issue. even movies reusing songs from popular edits is pretty wack, but edits reusing songs from movies is about as lame as you can get.
 
personally I think it's fine to use a song from a ski movie/famous edit as long as it isn't used in a ski edit. but for instance, i first heard a White Apple Tree song in Journal and used it in a wedding video I made; didn't see anything wrong with that.
 
TSP is having a contest where u send in a ski edit using a song that has been used in a ski movie before. they pick the best one. they came up with a shitty title 4 it: something like "reuse it" i need a good title for the contest, then i win a dvd. PM ME IF YOU HAVE AN IDEA. thanks
