has anybody else done it and how successful were you?i wanna go with some friends tomorrow but i have a different pass and i could use this kids sisters pass but it seems sketchy
also it would be at copper if that matters
 
ya im a guy using a chicks pass but i was hopin if i just flash it out there and cover up the pic or something it might work...bad idea?

I would say, I hope you don't look like your friends little sister. Might be pretty sketch to try it.
 
yeah dude bad idea, using a chick's pass wont go over too well. not sure what copper's deal but if they are like vail resorts and have the rf scanners her picture will show up and they'll realize that you are not in fact a female. they can also arrest you as it's against the law to use someone else's pass
 
you could try to explain that you mistakingly took your sisters/girlfriends pass when you left your house, if they get you, but nevertheless I wouldn try it^^
 
copper had been pretty lax in the past about pass stuff. they definitely do not crack down at all, in my experience. i have used my brother's pass and a chinese girl's pass and haven't even gotten glanced at.
using a girl's pass is a lot more conspicuous though. i would just try to look as girly as possible hahaha. and don't talk. i think you will be ok.
 
I have done it with my friends pass, but he was a guy. If you cover the picture and wear a bandana, it might work, but it would be way easier with a guy's pass.
 
maybe but my dads friend went skiing at a mountain on the last day it was openand used someone elses pass and got caught and was fined 400 bucks he got rofl pwntand if it is a little local hill i dont think they care to much as if it was a mountainand if its a girls pass sounds sketch
 
Its kind of funny when I was at copper like 2 years back I used my girl cousins pass and Im a guy. Just wore a kneckwarmer all went well.
 
i might be wrong but i think the picture shows up on the scanner. try to get a chill college kid to scan you instead of an old guy it might help
 
i let my buddy use my pass earlier in the season, they cought him made him buy 2 lift tickets and kept my pass......it was the first and last time ill lend it to sombody
 
if you wear a helmet put the picture where the stap covers the picture and all they can see is the part that they scan
 
used to do it all the time and it always worked. just pull your jacket up to your face so they can't see it that well.... that is if they even check at all
 
just cover your face with a bandana. How could they tell. Also one thing me and my friend tried was he bought a pass, and the fee to get a new pass if you lose one is only 25$, so i he just said he lost his, i gave him 25$ and i used his old pass and he used his new one.
 
ya sounds like it would be a bad idea and im pretty sure the readers they use at copper show the picture when they scan you so im thinkin the risk isnt worth it but thanks for the advice
 
For me, it depends which lift at copper. Super bee and a lift dont seem to look at them, but on flyer and eagle they always look and then say "thanks sam". So if you do do it, I would stay away from those lifts.
 
everyone has said it. don't do it, too sketchy. if you could find a guy's pass you might have a better chance but it's really not worth it if you get caught..

I accidently used my dad's pass for one day at keystone (copper is part of vail resorts right?) and they took it away and reprinted me my pass but took my dads (although they said he could reprint it). They said it was Identity theft and i could have been fined $700! Over-All they were huge douches about it and it was a big waste of time
 
Using other peoples passes is stupid. My friend got caught at Brighton once and the cops came and now he has trouble finding a real job because nobody wants to hire somebody with a Theft of Services Misdemeanor on their record.
 
i see that you are in summit county... so no. i had the opportunity to borrow someones pass for a couple days and chose paying for 45 dollar employee benefit tickets instead
 
*This is when I worked at keystone

The scanners show birth dates, pictures, address, what lifts you have ridden your whole season, etc. We got $30.00 for each pass caught, so they usually WILL report you. I was a little easy on skiers, but hey.

You get trespassing, and kicked out of the resort for 30 days. Your friend also loses the pass.

Oh and not to mention if its a kid it will ring a whole different way.

Think of it this way.

Lets say you don't have a drivers license, but you borrow a friends license and go out for a drive.

A cop pulls you over.

Friends license does not work, simply showing him the license that wasn't yours probably would probably get you in more shit.

I also imagine that copper probably has electronic ticket checking but maybe not. I have never been there so I don't know.
 
Yeah, I was at Whiteface today using a friends pass, my last run the liftee couldn't get it to scan so he took it from me and had a better chance to look at the picture. He looked back at me and then back at the pass. He obviously knew that I wasn't who was on the pass (I have blonde hair, my friend has black) but really didn't care. This happened towards the end of the day when no one was really in the lift lines but when there where some people they are just rushing to get people on the lift so you should be good. Also if you go in a large group that works pretty well.
 
put ur thumb on the picture when they scan it. worked for me when i used my 10 year old brothers pass

ya man i know a kid that was also caught at brighton for using someone else's pass. He had to go to court and shit for it.
 
It sucks if your mountain is so anal about passes that you cant get away with that. I dont have my pass all the time/use someone elses and Ive never been caught. Its not that im even stealing anything cuz ive paid for the pass, but I just forget it all the time
 
My buddy got a fine and a criminal record for using someone else's pass. He had to go to court, get fingerprinted etc...I shit you not
 
i overheard a kid in the lodge talking about how he got caught using a friends pass one time, and they took him out of to the side, and they made him pay for all of the uses on the pass up to that date. dont know why, but he ended paying 300 bucks or something, for a 50 dollar lift ticket. prolly bad to use a girls pass. other guys would be less sketchy but ya.
 
yea fuck brighton , i feel like their lifties treat every customer like a thief every run i take they grab my pass stare at it look at me and stare some more. When I give the slighest amount of attitude they demand I take off my bandana/goggles. once even my helmet. Im almost close to filling a complaint , its bullshit moral: dont use anothers pass there
