Using both hd and sd shots in edits?

basically as title implies, i have a trv37 (video8 tapes), and am more than likely going to own a hvx200 (hd) for next season. planning on riding and filming a lot of street next season and would prefer to use two cameras for both long lens and fish eye shots of the same trick, would it be bunk to mix the footy together? or would i be better off just filming with one camera?

I would ditch the SD camera and get a gh3 and a wide-ish lens for like $600 for your lock off angle, while you film fisheye with the HVX.

Hvx is a jack of all trades camera kinda. Obviously not on the same level as cameras today but the film is great and has great color and zoom capabilities. Great for fisheye shots too.

You could also do this the other way around, the fisheye for a gh3 is pretty cheap and the HVX might be easier to get a good lock off frame, more flexibility.

Probs get a lot of hate but god I hate those shitty dad cam edits that are filmed with a potato....like dam feel like it ruins shots. Harald and Mainio edit was well put together tho especially wit that crispy fotty

The HVX is def the better choice for fisheye just because you’ll have better lenses to work with, and it’s gonna look weird to have your long lens stuff be the lower quality footage so I’d def try and get a DSLR or something that you could use for both fish and long lens shots

Try it to see how it looks. My advice if it's not going to work mixing the footage is keep it simple using one angle and use the two cameras for different edits.
