thinking of doing it,
who has done it?

The nice thing about it is I can adjust it depending on wheter i have a mic attached. Very easy to build

Do this. I bent aluminum for mine, but that was kinda tough and complicated. This is much simpler.

If anything, you may just want to add a grippy thing. The metal on mine was the same shape as his^ but I added some foamy tubing...

...kinda like this and it made it much easier and much more comfortable to grip.

I met someone who had one of these last summer. It was pretty nice. The owner is not on ns but I'd recommend asking Alex=God. He knows the guy who made one.

That looks pretty easy, might nip to the hardware store... Although will try getting a blow torch onto a ski pole. First attempt with out heat...failed. I have 3 ski poles left! haha.
The cool thing about using a ski pole is that a) I have 3 spare (now!) and b) they come with an ergonomic handle and c) they are really light. d) it's pretty legit to have a ski pole for your camera handle!

I'll probably have another go, have plenty of poles and plenty of gas in my blow torch! the trouble is I have flattened the end of this one which has actually made it way too floppy. The rest of it is extremely/surprisingly sturdy.

If you put a 3/4 thread or whatever in the grip of your pole, you could have a monopod ski pole combo. I've always wanted to do that for photo cameras, but i guess it would work for video to, it would give some more stability when zoomed in, and you wouldn't have to carry a tripod as often.

Dont take this the wrong way, but thats one of the worst handles I've ever seen. Its humongus, doesnt look sturdy and probably hard to manipulate. You should probably rethink your design, there are much easier ways. Good luck!!
BTW heres a handle someone on HV20.com made. How sick does this look?

Haha I know, but I had to do some shooting and it took my 5-10 minutes to weld/bend together with what I could find kicking around the farm. Yeah it's shit but it's better than nothing...just!! funny to look at to!

unless you're making a handle as functional as that, there's absolutely no reason to have one for such a small camera. Why do you feel like you need a handle?

how do you secure the screw that goes into the tripod mount on the camera? you know... like so the screw will be tight and wont spin on the handle

some kid at MHSSC had one. it was a bent ski pole with a camera attached to one end and a big nice handle on the other. it was pretty dope

any help?^^^ i was all ready to do this and then i realized that part didnt make sense to me haha, i feel like im missing something easy so someone fill me in please

i would be sick to make a ski pole with the thing to screw it in on the top of the handle so you could use it as something to steady the camera with on the fly. it would just suck to take one to the chin or anywhere on your body
