User DolanReloaded and other trolls

The suppression of what someone has to say should NOT be a left or right issue. It is a human rights issue. I believe everyone should be able to say what they want to say, and they should be able to be heard. Speech should be able to be equally scrutinized as much as it should be able to be praised.

"In order to be able to think, you have to risk being offensive." -Jordan Peterson

Being able to block members on here promotes the dangerous ability to live within your own echo chamber.

Everyone is allowed to say what they want to say. They're all able to. There's a difference between being ignorant to an opinion and simply being tired of incessant trolling/hateful/nonproductive bullshit.

I don't work for newschoolers so I don't have a dog in the fight but I would guess it's less about "maintaining precious feelings" and more about newschoolers' best interest as a business, companies buying advertising space on here don't particularly want their brands associated with a website that allows racial and homophobic slurs..

This, people seem to forget that. Yeah you can say whatever you want legally, but a private business can refuse you service for it. And other people are free to call you out and think you're an asshole

There's a difference between a member having the ability to create their own echo chamber and a company keeping their site tidy. My posts are directed towards the former.

okay but like i said in my other post, there’s a difference between creating an echo chamber and straight up being sick of someone’s repetitive shit and not wanting to hear it

Ironically if you start censoring other people’s views it turns into an echo chamber. Than from that mutates small minorities and thus the cycle repeats itself.

I don’t think you understand the meaning of irony

Something needs to be done about the troll problem here. Here are some books I recommend.

Tnx for the supportz goys!

as for your books, it looks like a good reading list, excepts for macroeconomics which in my opinion can be summarized completely by one phrase: herd ignorance.

Freedom of speech doesn't mean freedom to be an asshole or from consequences.

What you just said is kind of an asshole thing to say in my opinion, how would you feel if people blocked you for expressing opinions like the one you just gave?

Well you’re like wrong

freedom of speech means you can say whatever the fuck you want to say. But the consequences are on you - responsibility
