Used Ski rails / boxes for sale in the Northeast?

Howdy NS. On a hunt for some backyard park features here. I'm the president of the Bates College SHRED club and we're hosting our annual open-format rail jam here on campus in a couple weeks. Been looking an FB marketplace/Craigslist for individuals or ski areas that may be selling old features but have had little luck. Our club does have a few shitty PVC rails but we've got a whole budget to blow and it would be sick to step it up this year with some real metal tubes/boxes etc. It's always a fun event with lights/music and a small crowd. Might be a longshot but if anyone has leads about purchasing or adopting old rails / boxes in the region it would be a huge plus for this event! We're located in Lewiston Maine, and we have a trailer for transport and can supplement pay in beer.

Cheers

If you've got money your probably better off finding someone who can weld and making your own stuff with materials from craigslist or something. pretty much every mtn in Maine is short on features and a college club is gonna be pretty low on the donation list compared to some of the volunteer hills that have literally no budget.

Might have better luck borrowing rails at least, lost valley and abrams probably don't have everything out on hill right now.

I've bought rails off resort boneyard before but that seemed slim pickins then and even moreso. Now. Worth looking at but idk that much gets posted on there now. A few snowcats and some lifts.

I bought a rail off CL in rochester once bit also rare.

If you know what kind of features you want maybe design one, get the steel, do the cuts, and have somebody else weld it. Wither somebody at the school or pitch to somebody that like wutang it's for the childrens.

Also look into borrowing a few rails from a mtn. Liability might have them a little scared. Maybe theres some features that rither dont have skirting or were going to get repainted thst you could paint over their logo. Or if theyre into it it could be a little promo for them.

Also if any of you get the chance to learn, welding is pretty cool. It's fun to take a pile of steel and turn it into things.

If i was back east I'd ask around or maybe even weld something up for ya but i won't be back for a while. Good luck though. If this is a reoccurring even having a few more rails for your club might be worth building em. Steel isn't too expensive. Also never underestimate asking nicely and also offering beer. Beer is still a decent commodity for favors in this world.

Can't help ya with features but I would totally go to this in a different year when the borders open!

Actually bought MT Abrams entire fleet. 13 features i believe off resort boneyard backnin 2013.

Most were in great shape and fixed up the ines that weren't. Got a few from cl and friends, welded a bunch. Went from a progression box and rail to a ton of rails. Good times.

If you can find some old pieces of railroad track and something to secure them to, those make great rails. Or if you can find someone to do welding/cutting and you can make it happen legally, grab an old lift tower from the old Colby ski hill in Waterville.

This is the jib I made from railroad track. Could be drilled and bolted to the railroad ties, but not even necessary because it's so heavy it holds itself in place.

I actually specialize in this and can weld and ship out some rails for you guys. Welding ain’t cheap, but I can hook you guys up with a price just a little over what I make it for if you’d be interested. And yes, we can custom them if you want kinks, lengths , heights, etc. Let me know if you’d like some more details brotha. My number is 708-476-2200.

Shipping rails costs some serious $$$ even if you have shipping connections though.

I get some huge discounts already so shipping only costs like $40 per rail which honestly isn’t too bad. That number can get higher depending on the length but brutally bad.

Awesome, thanks for all the help everyone! Got a view potential rails in the works here. I'll try and post pics from the event/ final products when it happens
