When I broke my collarbone in two places, before and right after surgery whenever I didnt have my sling on (took it off to shower, get dressed etc) Shit hurt alot. Use the sling for 2 weeks or whatever and feel good as new, or don't use a sling and be in pain for a month of more. Up to you OP

Exactly. Fuck the doctors. They're goofs that don't know what they're talking about. Skiing in october is more important than wearing a sling and healing properly.

Get it checked out. I dislocated mine, was told to take 6 weeks off and get stronger. I took a week off and dislocated it again my first day back. Put it in myself and went home. Since then I've been dislocating it almost once a week for the past 4 years. I finally got surgery on Monday of last week.

Don't fuck around with it. Take a month or two off, go lift weights, swim, etc. Just get your shoulder stronger or else you're gonna end up with shit like this and you'll go from a month or two off the skis to 2 years off the skis like me.

Only other thing I would suggest to you if you plan on saying fuck the doctor would be to get a shoulder brace.

The best one is going to be the Sully Shoulder Brace, around $150 plus or minus. That's the only one I'd look at. All the others are pieces of shit.
