I never once said that America is evil, I never even hinted at it. Looks like YOU are reading words into my posts that aren't there. Grow up. And yes, the American media pretty much is a propaganda machine. Did you know that the rest of the world shows clips from your news broadcasts as humour? No you probably didn't, well they do, the world laughs at you Andy, the world can't stand America at the moment, Americans are the most non-liked tourists in the world and the most annoying exchange students in my university. You over exagerate everything and all little things are always sooo dramatic. Grow the fuck up and stop wasting my time, you're a chump, go back and play in the sandpit and talk about trucks and bulldozers and stuff. Also, if it's that bad, doesn't it show that the news is bad enough that we as highly educated people wouldn't believe it if it was false? Fox news is a great example. No on believes anythig they say, CNN though, everyone believes it... WORLD WIDE. REUTERS is used around the world as a enws source, and a lot of US gets there info from reuters. tim.. I hope this helps you open your eyes and see that you are in fact the exact type of person you say all americans are. An over generalizing un eductaed fool who generalizes everything. Disagree if you want, but I just proved it. I did this with my 11th grade education compared toy ou're nearly finished college one. Seems that you can't make that generalization either can you? not everyone younger than you is stupid. Yes I am making a huge generalisation, but for the most part it's true, I have met only a few Americans that I actually like, mostly I meet a cool person with your accent and they turn out to be Canadian. And there are actually 3.8 million people in NZ and it's Australians that shag sheep.

I disagree with the first post. I would say that Las Vegas is now the center of the US. A little while ago it was LA. Before that, New York. Before that Chicago. While this is not my idea, I believe it to be true. I support what Neil Postman wrote in his book ''Amusing Ourselves to Death'' (1985) that Huxley and not Orwell was right in his representaion of the future (''A Brave New World'', writen in 1925). I believe that Las Vegas best represents America's national character. ''Today we must look to the city of Las Vegas, as a metaphor of our national character and aspiration, its symbol a thirty-foot-high cardboard picture of a slot machine and a chorus girls. For Las Vegas is a city entirely devoted to the idea of entertainment, and as such proclaims the spirit of a culture in which all public discourse increasingly takes the form of entertainment.'' I believe this to correct. You can flame me for copying some-one else's opinion, but attacking the character of a ideological rival in a debate is nothing but detramental to your case. So UH!!

And I feel that the US is turning into the Las Vegas of the world. There are still incredable artists and intellectuals in the US, because economic stability has ALWAYS (6000 years+) been a key figure in cultural development. But consider American ''Foriegn Policy''. Absolute economically selfish bullshit. Anybody who thinks that American actions abroad are in the interest of establishing a resonsible internation democratic community is either, very poorly informed, horribly ignorant, or an absolute fool. It is all economic. And considering that the US is the richest country EVER, and is obsessed with entertainment, much of their international aggression is dangerously irresponsible.

And I also belive that in less than 100 years, the US will be a sorrid fraction of the culture it is now. America will fall just like Rome did. Just like every great civilization did. Peace.

Actually he's quite talented when it comes to computers. But when it comes to understanding world politics and anything that even slightly suggests that the US might be, God forbid, WRONG he just can't handle it. And Andy, there comes a time when educating yourself just isn't enough. I'd love to see you teach yourself about half the things that go on in any half decent university, bad excuse, go home.
