you gotta sign up in time to get in and a lot of sponsors have first dibs on registration. There is no sense in getting shorter skis because the size of the jumps at the open are kinda small. If you want to impress the judges you pretty much have to max out the jumps. Watch Schiller's winning run last year, he landed at the bottom of that last jump, and the landing was pretty long. Longer skis are more stable for landings. You cant spin to win the open anymore, you gotta have steeze.
...he died doing what he loved. He will always be rememberd as a great snowboarder, but more importantly as a great friend.
