Jan 31-Feb 3 from what I've heard. Sucks ass that it overlaps with SIA this year. I don't understand why they would do that.

all competitions are feb 1-3 practice on the 31st weird timing, after X games screwed me up a bit

i agree. it's fucking dumb. last year they missed each other by 1 day, and sia kind of overlapped with the x-games.

It's a shame they changed their dates. If they had kept the same weekend they've had for years, we'd finally have Open then X, then SIA, which makes for much easier travel - not to mention much much cheaper travel too.

Now we have to go to X games, leave CO for Vegas, then head back to CO for the Open. It's very frustrating that we have an entire winter for events and yet now I have to make a decision as to which event to attend fully. I'm super unpleased.

Seems like it doesnt make much sense. I've always thought that if you kill the open, then you deserve the chance to get in at X-games the following weekend. But now if you kill x-games then i guess you deserve a chance at the open. hmmmm

those are the dates (trust me, i ride for copper)

and copper didn't pick those dates. the new title sponsor did (jeep is not the title sponsor anymore)

but yes, very weird timing. all of this years comps are later in the season (this includes big mtn)

i hope they dont use that lottery system... kind of works, but then again, sucks for a lot of people...also alst year after PK slayed the open, they wouldnt let him into x games anyways...but yes the scheduling is extremely strange
