Personally, I hate political threads, because a good percentage of you are just retarded.

To the others, I'm Australian and with the recent fifa/gta releases I haven't watched much tv or news.

Could someone please explain what all the hype about the government shutdown is?

Obama is shutting down the whole federal government for days to show everyone what happens in a world with minimal government like the republicans want.

thanks to whoever posted the bbc article, ive seen similar charts over the past few days indicating whos going to loose out, but the whole reasoning is still kinda vague.

from my general understanding, obama is trying to bring in some sort of free healthcare, obamacare? (we have a free health care system here called medicare and it is extremely successful). but the republicans are against it.

so obama cant get his legislation through (not really sure how the us government operates) both (houses?). so hes having a bitch fit and shutting down the government. what does he stand to gain from shutting it down. trying to force the republicans into passing the bill or something?

please correct any of my misunderstandings.

If I learned anything from watching Doomsday Preppers, this is disaster and everyone is now feral. Must retreat to my bunker. Must kill everyone that comes neer my bunker because they heard about all of the rations I have and want to kill me for them. They all said I was crazy for prepping. Shit, I said too much.

yeah this--because I work for the federal gov and I definitely am going to work tomorrow-- I don't even have any emails regarding the issue so its kind of a bluff.

The liberal democrats need to realize that the constitution is importnatn and needs to be taken literally. It's no wonder that almost all liberals are on food stamps and live in california because they are just lazy and want to take all of the money from the successful people.

Funny how 3 weeks ago we had enough money to fund our military going into Syria to fuck shit up...but now we don't have enough in our budget to pay for our new healthcare plan
