I have a bet with my dad that i know more then him about skis and shit, and he asked me why it is that a ski is not completely straight if you look down it and like it curves out at the tip and tail, does anyone know why? Karma+++

i think because they grip and initiate the turn. not sure about that though.

If I am reading it right, it's because that's what forms the sidecut. It's what determines how a ski turns. And it eases initiation of turns.
