URGENT>Hucking Backys

Hello,

I have a serious question about throwing a back flipping maneuver. When approaching the jump, should one be on the toes or the heels of their boots? At what point after leaving the take off of the jumping area should one arch his or her back? Should one qualify this jump before attempting this on snow? As well, I have often heard it is good to look for your heels while doing a back flipping maneuver, is this true? What is the average angle of a jump which is considered adequate for hucking a backy flip? Im taking this very seriously because I plan to attempt such a maneuver tommorow in the backcountry of new hampshire! Thanks for the help!
 
Quit being a pussy and just throw it. The worst that could happen is over-rotating and landing on your tails, or under-rotating and landing on your tips... Either way, you'll be in the BC and it won't hurt if you're riding pow. But, if you must practice, throw a few on a tram to get the timing down. Focus on bringing your hips around frist, not your feet. If the hips go, the feet will follow... Uhm... Also spot your landing, it helps a lot. On your take off, just have a neutral stance, not too far foward or too far back because that will decrease your chances of over/under rotating.

maybe there is some sort of story or some shit I don't get, but it seems to me that everyone just freaked out at this kid. he just asked some legitimate questions about skiing, in a forum about skiing, on a ski site deicated to freeskiing. it makes no sense.

i hate these posts. How can it be "urgent"? Is someone holding your boyfriend hostage unless you can throw a backflip? If you're seriously considering it, use the search for some tips, and TRY IT ON YOUR OWN.
 
You can't call Melvs a retard. He will retard everything you have ever posted, and make you look like a 3rd grade girl.
 
if you can do a backflip on a tramp you can do it on snow. just balls up with plenty of speed on a good hit, pop off the lip and do it exactly like you do on a tramp, the landing will come around into your vision in no time, then it's as easy to land as a straight air. I landed mine first try and have landed them that way ever since
