Urban/Police Ratio:

I just got in from an urban and we got busted.. again.

It seems like almost everytime in the last year we have gone out on an excursion we get busted. I hate it. The rail we set up today was in a courtyard of a school, no where near a road. We basically threw a photographer up ontop of a portable to take photos, and someone called the cops and said "someone is breaking into a portable". How retarded can someone get? You see someone on top of a portable, but RIGHT beside it is snow (which there is non of anywhere else , and a huge drop in. Would you not assume SOMETHING was up seeing snow and this "tower"? Stupid people. Anyways a undercover SUV and cruiser pulled up, got our id, gave us a warning, made us pack up and go home.

Im just wondering what your guys bust ratio is? like everytime you go out do you get busted or what?

Yhe fucking cops are after me,i have tried 4000090000 times on an urban and u have completred it like 3 times.

where i live, u dont get busted because its not really too "urban", and there arent many people who do urban around here

one of the cops was about to let us hit it. he was super chill, and thought what we were doin was sick but he said he had to kick us out because somebody called it in. he said if it wasn't called in and he rolled by he would have stopped to watch for sure

i've had pretty good success with urban missions thus far, i haven't hit a mass amount of rails but i've come to find that as long as you don't make much noise no matter where you won't get busted all that often...

unfortunatly thats not the right answer.

Its bascially a portable class room - used when the schools population exceeds the classs room size. There set up outside, exactly like this:

portable.jpg

summer ratio= 1 succesful rail for every 2 busts

winter= 3 successes for every bust

bringing snow to rails usually sucks, takes way too much time, hence way easier to get kicked out, you either have to find isolated rails or be fast

well you had the guy standing on a roof, thats not just a little suspicuos is it? If some on looked from the other side they probably would not see the rest of you guys. Also you probably arnt suposed to stand on those roofs.

I have hit 3 rails.

cops busted us once and just told us to leave, but they were really cool. The other two were at my college and the cops came and just watched us from the parking lot and then left. We actually got busted by security.

some guy came and took fotos on his phone and called the cops saying we set the hall ararm off, but theres hardly any cops in the area, so none came.lol. prob why theres such a crime rate

your chances of getting caught are pretty high if your in a concentrated, small town. But if they give you a warning, consider yourelf lucky

you do realize that a warning isnt anything other than telling you to go home and saying dont do that again. it is no "offical ticket" without a fine or anything like that. its the SAME THING.

dam kids. i thought the same thing when i was fifteen so i guess i shouldnt be so mean.

when we went to ottawa, we got busted two times, two nights in a row, at the same spot, by the same cop. amazing coincidence.

thats dumb...most of the people around here are pumped when they see us doing something...my friend got helped out by some little black kids parents who told their kids to help them with speed

we set up 3 different rails yesterday, and at teh first one, 2 cops came and just asked if we had a phone to call 911 ifsome got hurt and they were asking us a bunch of questions about skiing and rails so it was pretty cool! and they just let us hit the rail as long as we wanted!

haven't gone out that much, gotten about 3 warnings, but 4 out of 6 times we'll get away with it...

It all depends on the people in the neighbourhood, some times you'll get the old senile guy calling the cops everytime a kid walks by his house past ten, other times you'll get the family coming to watch...

I usually go at night, if you don't make too much noise and set up in the dark, then stick your trick in less than 10 tries, you'll get away with it for sure.

word, in reno most of the time cops dont really care, more than anything its the noise of the generator that they bitch about. We were doing the clayton rail thats in PYB like 50 million times, and 15 min in a cop showed up and starting questioning people cuz he didnt even know what the hell was going on. He was like your going to do what?!haha have fun.

I wasnt doing urban, i was just using a nursing homes hill for speed on my own rail. The nurses came out and watched us and loved it. I asked them if they were gonna call the cops, and they said thats dumb.

there are 3 urbans i realllyyyy wnna do in my town. ones at a college right next to the library. ones next to a school right on broadway (main road in the city) the others in the parking lot for the police station. i think im gunna have shity luck trying them

Ive shot anywhere from 50-75 urban rails; more often than not I've had to deal directly with the land owner/property manager than the cops. Which is a good thing. Never gotten any tickets for vandalism, destruction of property, etc. that many people have run into. Its all about timing.

So far this year I haven't got busted once...it has been nice because last year the cop bust ratio was 100%.

Ahahahaha! Seriously though, I've only ever been asked to go home once by the cops, and they didn't even know what the hell we were doing, we were at a middle school, and the caretaker dude had seen us and talked to us about skiing and stuff, he was way cool and said to go ahead and have fun, so we told him that when we were done we'd shovel the snow that we piled up off into the grass so he wouldn't have to in the morning. Well the fuzz rolled through after about half a dozen total attempts(a few people were alternating hiting it) and just asked us to leave, so we started shoveling it off, and they didn't have any idea what was going on, up until that point I don't think they knew we were skiing, they just thought that we were all hanging out at the school, it wsa pretty funny, cause they got all confused and just said ok, and drove off, we prolly could've kept hitting it if we wanted. And then one time we were at the college hitting a nice double or triple kink, and the security guy asked us to leave, but he let us hit it for like an hour and a half first, and watched...but he said that his boss was starting to make his rounds, and if his boss found out that he let us stay and hit it he could get in trouble, so we thanked him and packed up, I've had pretty good experiences with urban rail sessions thus far though.
