Urban jib map application for the iPhone? good idea?

So my friend and I were thinking of designing an App for the iPhone that runs of the map program already built into the iPhones where people can add and vote to remove urban spots in any city they hit so you can go to somewhere you've never been and not spend 5 hours driving around and find only the worst spots in town. what do you guys think? this is a basic layout preview.

I know that is the case and I wouldn't want the archive to be complete in the first 4 days and most ppl that jib in a town are all buddies and know the places anyway so this is for guy (or girls) that are moving town or traveling to film. it just makes life easier

solid i dea but i remember a thread not too long ago, like a week or so, about this website this guy was starting that was exactly this. but on the iphone platform i am sure you guys could talk about it work it out

it would also be cool if there were notes or reviews of the spot

eg. place is packed with non-skiers these days, or no run in, bring a bungee, like little hints to go with it

I think its a great idea sometime it can be hard to find a good urban but this would help a lot.

I'm just trying to gauge the response by the community to see whether there'd be a point in making it. Also could be used on mountain for wicked cliffs and shops could advertise small rail jams or whatever on it and what ever else to do with skiing and locations (awesome shops, movie release parties, whatever tickles ur fancy)

started to do it on droid... problem is you need a back end server to store all the spots. I got stuck after creating an application that could create and store spots locally on the phone. Once I finish with my database and client side programming classes i might take another stab at it.

And with the super secret spots being revealed. you would be able to vote to remove a pin after a certain number of votes
