Upping your post count

I am on this site a lot. I took a semester off and have a lot of free time on my hands. so I post a lot more than I used to, I joined this site in like 2004 or something and I think most of my posts are like in the last 2 months. i try to keep my posts helpful, or at least slightly humorous though.

I recognize a lot of people on this site since I've been going to it for so long. kinda makes me sad when someone I thought was really funny disappears (wheres D-loc?) I keep coming back because NS keeps me updated with tons of cool shit, things that are funny, new trends, etc. and its a good place to go to for advice or tips or whatever (or if not, a bunch of sarcastic responses that might make me laugh)

but some people I just do not recognize. they have like 4k posts, but I couldnt remember one of them. this could be because they post in other sections. but it makes me wonder...

how many people spam some dead cult to up their post count? this is really lame because my post count often makes me feel like I spend too much time on this site, which I do. I dont really get why people think having a high post count equals...well I dunno what they think it equals, e-respect or something? nothing against those with big post counts.
 
post count means nothing, or it shouldn't at least. the only thing should be the quality of the posts you do make, if you choose to post at all.

i just figured out i've made roughly .3 posts a day. in the beginning, i rarely posted except in images and shit. i remember one time i think i posted 60 times in one day. i was on for like 8 hours that day or something. then again last weekend, i was hungover as fuck and was on from about 1pm to 11pm, posting maybe 10 times.

i guess it all depends on what you find appealing enough to post, or your maturity level. 3 years ago, i was probably some stupid 16 year old trying to do nothing. now i only post when i feel i can make a contribution or something sounds funny in my head. and i took about a year off and have no idea who some people are.
 
some of those who are very new (like a couple of months) yet with thousands of posts just post a ton of useless shit in a ton of threads. Usually very generic responses and shit. There are quite a few of them, though.
 
ya post count is very pointless. It just show's people how big of a nerd you are and how much time you waste on this site. Which for me is a lot...

yes point count is pointless. it is all about the qaulity of the posts that matter. look at me i have 500 posts on this account. id prolly have around 2500 if i posted to eery thread that i read. but instead i choose to sasve my posts for usefull information or when im really effed up and want to say something stupid.
 
the mods ban pepole that spam cults, but i feel where you're coming from, i've been on here for like 4 years, and theres people that have been on here for like 6 months that have twice the posts as me, its not that they spam shit, they just post in everythread wether they are actually helping or not, nothing wrong with it i guess but its pretty gay in my opinion

I am not ragging on post count, I am just wondering how people get theirs so high. I remember some guy named thegreek or something like that upped his by spamming some cult, was wondering if more people do that.

i dont even look at my post count, i just try to only post when i have something valid to say. but i deffinetly post more than most people, i think im in the 5 thousands right now i have no idea...haha that puts me at over 10 k total...im a nerddddd.
 
oh jesus I remember when I used to be obsessed over post count. Good times...

But now I just post when I feel like it and when I see something of interest and all of the sudden I looked again yesterday and I had passed 3400 posts...the last time I had looked I was at 2900.
 
lets be honest, the only reason all of us posted in this thread is to up our counts so we can score with more ns chicks

just because someone has posted 20,000 posts does not mean that their next post will be any different to a noobs first post...

when i created this new account i was just concerned with getting over 3 or 4 hundred posts so that people would be more likely to listen to me if i felt like i actually had something important to say...

 
i was here since 05 and posted legit stuff, then got banned this year from that account for saying the n-word. after that i posted a shitload cause i was pissed off, then changed my name. so i am probably one of "those people" you are talking about...oh well the past couple months i have been legit.

I think most of my posts are legit. I don't think of myself as a post-whore. although some of you probably do...

anyway, none of it really bothers me. the only thing that bothers me is when people mention post count, or argue over it.

haha its weird when kids on here tell me that im like an ns legend (not a clue why) or something...makes me think that i need to take up some sort of hobby....

Funny story. About 2, almost 3 years ago now, a friend of mine made a spam bot (just a simple javascript program that makes your mouse button click repeatedly). A friend of mine and I used to spam a dead cult with this bot just for fun and to get the mods pissed. In the end, we got served. But it was all worth it. My god those were funny days.
 
I don't really judge people's credibility by their post count. If somebody has been around a lot, you will recognize them and know enough about them just by their username or icon. You bring up a good point though... people might be spamming their post count up, but what does that really matter? If you see somebody with 5k posts and you've never heard of that person... then it doesn't give them much credibility.
 
I don't even know how many posts I have. I'm thinking the more the karma system is used the less post count will be looked at for credability
 
Over the summer I posted alot to up my post count. Now I post when Im interested in the thread, not to just post. Some people deffintly still post just for their post count. Alot of the people in the thousands have no videos or pictures too, makes me wonder if they even ski.
 
ya its gay that people are uping there posts just so they think they will get more respect. I have been on this site since 2003 and only have like 300 posts. dose it realy matter people should just post when they have something usefull to say...
 
Credibility comes from nothing more than posting well thought-out responses.

There are people with vry few posts with massive credibility.
 
haha, this is funny because yesterday I gave some told some kid to pretty much shut up about what he was saying because the other guy had more posts

it was clearly sarcasm but it he didn't think so.
