My blackberry broke so I had to switch to a new one. This one supports mp3 ringtones. But I don't know how to get my custom tones off my laptop and onto my phone. It's a motorola l7... anyone know how to do this? I suck at teh electronics.

hey lawyer boy, get w/ the program no one uses blackberries anymore iphones ftw you aint gonna get hired by any firms!!

I am now using a run of the mill phone as I mentioned. That post did not assist me.

I think therewas a way to email it to your cell, like a text. But verizon killed that, I don't know about Motorola. How I do it, is I have a cord which connects to my computer, then I have a program called BitPim, and it can take, or put on photos, music, ringtones, notes, contacts, ect...

Depending on the phone (most CDMA phones work) you can buy a USB cable on eBay and use BitPim as mentioned above.

All else fails, try www.mobile17.com, there's a little bit of a wait time but I have done a few ringtones like that and it works well, and the site is very easy to use.

BitPim refuses to acknowledge the existence of my extremely widely used phone. Inexplicable.

i think a lot of motorolas are supported by this site

http://mobile17.com

maybe it has www., but thats okay. i use it and you get free ringtones sent to you in the form of picture messages with sound attached. i have like 8. and it uses your computers mp3s

Yeah this phone doesn't get email. It does support bluetooth though. I wonder if there's a way to transfer it over bluetooth.

that's the only way i can transfer them on to my phone. i have teh mac so nokia hates macs and yeah. pm andy_boy. he'd be delighted to tell you.

get the ringtone you make on mobile17.com sent to your computer via email. then turn on the bluetooth on your phone and laptop, make sure your comp recognizes the phone then send the file.
