Im looking for something that takes great photos and has decent HD. Therefore I was mainly looking at the D-90 and the canon 1ti i belive it is. And i'm not sure about what lense i should aim for, im new to the lenses and stuff so im not sure what the different lenses you can get with them are for. any help, other recomendations or opinions would be great. And which out of the two would be best or a third option?

The video mode on the t1i is basically a gimmick. 1080p at 20fps? Wtf. the 720/30p isn't a bad feature though.

I don't know if this is still accurate, but when it first came out, the D90's video mode had such terrible rolling shutter issues that it was unusable. I don't know if there have been firmware upgrades or something since then to change that.

Here's an example of d90 rolling shutter issues:http://s477.photobucket.com/albums/rr134/jamesmel9/?action=view&current=DSC_0012.flv

thanks keep the advice comming guys, and whats the VR mean and the 55-200mm is just the zoom right? my highschool didnt have photography class

i would personally check out the D70, seems like it has better video (best from a dslr to the best of my knowledge) but it might be out of your budget.

What's your budget? I'm temped to say 7d which is sick, but something tells me it may be out of your budget....?

go with d90 you can find the body for about 850. is that your total budget or just for a body ?

you can find the 18-200 mm vr for like 550 someplaces. i suggest that lens alllll the way

ya total so i think im gunna go with the VR 18-105, thats still a decent lense right?

and does anyone know anything more about the video, i cant imagine 24 fps being that bad?

Go with the 18-105. It's not great, but it's definitely better than something with a range like 18-200. Don't waste your money on a lens like that.
