Hey, so I'm currently in the process of adding more stuff to my recipe box because I'm moving out in a couple of weeks. I've written a few of my favourites of my mom's down, and now I was wondering if NS had any good recipes to share.

a very easy to make appetizer that does especially good in winter and can compensate for a smaller main dish;

ham rolls with spiced butter

ingredients:

a roll of puff pastry from the grocery store

sliced ham

spiced/garlic butter

how to:

warm your oven to 200°C (+-400°F)

roll out the puff pastry dough onto baking paper

then take your spicy butter or garlic butter and spread it out finely across the dough

then take fine slices of ham and cover the roll of puff pastry, leaving 1 side about a thumb width free

(this is needed to "close the roll")

now that your pastry is covered with spicy butter and ham, roll it up into a tight roll

the end (that last strip on the roll that you left uncovered) now gets "sticked" onto the roll with some drops of water and by pushing it flat onto the roll using the teeth of a fork, the open ends also get folded and are closed off the same way.

finally make your hands wet and gently rub some water on the dough so its moist on the outside,

then put it on baking paper, on a baking trey and put it into the oven, baking time is usually somewhere around 40min. but i suggest you just keep an eye on it and when the dough starts to turn golden brown and begins to flake, the roll is ready!

serve the roll as it is on the table and cut off slices for the guest, this thing is gonna be super hot, so warn them :)

Bon Appetit !

a student classic which people have kind of adopted and turned it into a sandwich filler is chicken and pesto with pasta. fry chicken in pan. boil pasta in pot.drain the pasta and return to pot. add pesto to pasta and add chicken to the pasta and pesto and eat from pot. its awesome. not very nutritionally wholesome but good to fill your stomach if your short of time and all you need is a pan, a pot, a fork and a hob.

I have sooooo many solid recipes... Most of them are more refined.

Here's a solid one for the fall... (Ingrediant amounts are left out, can provide if you like what you hear)

Onion Cider Soup

-Apple Cider (perfect use for some cider thats getting hard in the fridge)

-Beef boulloin or beef stock

-Yellow Onions

-Apples

-Baguette

-Hot sauce

-olive oil

-garlic

-cheddar cheese

Carmelize the onions and apples together, then add in the cider and beef stock. Let that simmer together.

In a small bowl, mix olive oil, grated garlic, and hot sauce. Slice the baguette and then brush the bread slices with the olive oil mixture. Cover with cheddar cheese and toast in the oven.

So good.

Ramen Breakfast Burrito

1 packet Ramen noodles

2 whisked eggs

Hot sauce

1 soft flour tortilla

2 strips pre-cooked bacon

Shredded cheddar cheese

1) Begin cooking Ramen noodles in boiling pot of water.

2) Once noodles are about 30 seconds to completion, dump in the bowl of already whisked eggs. Stir till cooked (15 sec appx.)

3) Strain soft boiled egg and Ramen mixture. Add cheddar cheese as you like.

4) Place egg, Ramen and cheese in the tortilla and add bacon and hot sauce before wrapping up.

5) Profit

Tips Microwaving a not so soft tortilla for 5 seconds will make it super soft and delicious.

These are excellent! Thank you so much, as soon as I get home from work I'll share a few of mine as well.

I love getting new recipes!

Cook pasta (not noodles but the short like 2 inch tubes). In a separate pan, fry sun-dried tomatoes, capers, and olive oil. Once tomatoes and capers are hot, add pasta to pan. Let cook until pasta is fried from olive oil and mixed in with tomatoes and capers. Serve hot with parmasean cheese.

bagel + cream cheese + sprinkle capers on the cream cheese (it sticks better)+ smoked salmon + 1 slice tomato + 1 slice onion.

quick and filling breakfast with plenty of protein

I'll grab the measurements and post them up tonight when I am at home.

It's stupid simple to make as well.

One of my favourite foods growing up was "Porcupines", it isn't anything fancy but it was my comfort food when I was little. My mom and I were trying to figure out what we use as measurements last night because it's one of those things that we eyeball.

1lb Ground Beef

2/3Cup Uncooked Rice

1 1/4Cup Water

1/4Cup Chopped Onion

1tsp Seasoning Salt

1/2tsp Garlic Powder

1Can Tomato Soup

Dash of Pepper

2tsp Worchestershire

Mix the ground beef, 1/4 cup water, rice, garlic powder, seasoning salt, pepper and onion in a bowl. Shape into balls (I think ours are 1- 1.5 inches).

Place the 'porcupines' into a casserole dish.

Mix the cup of water remaining and the tomato soup and cover the porcupines with it. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for about an hour.

Generally we served this over fried mashed potatoes.
