Up Steven's Jumps

I just got back from steven's "Hope on the Slopes" and found the waterfall jump line disappointing. I think they are doing a great job on the park right now but they should make the jumps bigger cause the season is winding down and its time to step it up.

Ya there just is not enough snow right now to build them. But don't worry about a week before jib academy comes they will magically find some snow and you will see some impressive stuff.

Agreed.

There is snow now. But everyone uses that excuse. I guarantee even if it doesn snow in between now and then, the features will get pushed bigger.

Regardless, still the best jumps in the state sadly. Snoqualmies jumps blow so hard. Stevens park has been really fun lately.

being the skinniest kid at fat camp does not mean you couldn't do with losing a few pounds...

honestly, the statement of: best park in WA, really does not mean much. Best park in CO means something. Best park in CA means something. Best park in WA does not, since the number 2 bar is pretty low. There are like what? 3? maybe 4 parks in the state?

i dunno how much you have traveled billy. but compared to most parks (exept for the big CO and UT ones) Stevens and Summit are damn good.

I disagree. THis is my first year in WA. I think that the parks at Squaw, Alpine, Boreal, Northstar, Sierra and Heavenly and Mammoth (although I have never been there) Are all better then the park here at Stevens. I'd say Stevens park is probably comparable to the one at Sugar Bowl.
In the past I barely ever skied park, but more features and bigger jumps etc. at most of them compared to Stevens.

i like the first ones size but they should make junior and the other one bigger. waterfall is perfect for progression right now.

ya, thats a problem.

its not called the progression line. its called the pro line.

if I want to work on 180's 3's or 5's I have the top half of the park to do it on. ya, speed can be a bit of an issue, but you can get enough speed for one or two jumps, so its fine to push waterfall up.

the funny thing about this is that I don't ski park. I just want big scary things to take photos of. Also and the fact that I have not skied in over a month, but the jumps can allways get bigger.

Make em BIIIIGGGG

as for stevens' quality versus other areas... its pretty damn good for a day use area. Snoqualmie... uh... not even close. The jumps have always been whack. The pipe is a feature in text only, and number of jibs doesn't compensate for all the other lacking elements.

Oh, and I will vouch for what billy said: it is pro line. It builds up as the year goes along due to snow and such, but that shit needs to be big big big big big big big big BIG

but i will also vouch for the park crew at stevens which tries and succeeds quite often. And they actually do stuff... very regularly too i might add. what a concept

I'm going to have to disagree with you about Snoqualmie WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THIS SEASON. They have shit for snow compared to Stevens right now, but their jibs were pretty on-point last season and the season before. We all know that their jumps are sub-par compared to Stevens, but they aren't completely whack. I always have fun.
I'll leave the pipe out of this one though haha.

billy you have said that you dont even ski park in the past...

so if you dont even ski park, who are you to rate how much fun each one is to ski?

Please make the jumps bigger. Im sick of speed checking into the third and landing 15ft deep. There is enough snow and speed in that line to make them much bigger

after year after year of absolute disappointment. i can safely say that this year hasn't been an exception. It has been worse than say last year, but it is always whack. Granted, there is usually like a week+ span that is actually pretty good. but out of say... 5-6 months, that isn't acceptable. Rails are usually in monotonous set ups, yet plentiful jumps are beyond whack, and the pipe situation is just aggravating. The only real bright spot is pretzels and polish donuts, but that is more a reflection on Shalbot's efforts, at least from what I've seen in the way of snoqualmie events over the years. stevens>all
