UP Michigan - Mt Bohemia Car Camping?

What’s up Newschoolers! I’m trying to head up to Mt Bohemia this weekend, but don’t have a real plan on where to stay. Anyone know any lots/places/campsites where I could possibly sleep in my car for a night or two or would I be better off just paying for a night in the hostel?

Keep in mind the hostel comes with two meals....the walmart parking lot is an hour away and does not feed you.

Just stay in the yurts andenjoy the hot tub dude, it’s a good time.

you don’t want to be spending the night in your car in the Keewenaw in February. DO NOT DO THAT. People die in the U.P. just about every year because they didn’t take the natural elements seriously and did something stupid.

Thanks very much for the replies! I called and they have beds available for tomorrow night but none on Saturday so it looks like I’ll only get to ski 1 day. Looking forward to it tho

Dude you’re going to have a blast! The U.P. has been getting nuked with snow the past few weeks.

Yeah it gets mega cold up there. I have camped in North Ontario (other side of lake Superior) in -25 C and it's do-able but you're better off with a good tent or snow hut and a sleeping bag for those cold temps. You also won't want to get out of the bag when you wake up, and you may not get a full night's sleep. If your main goal is skiing just spend the $ on a hostel- you'll get a better rest with less hassle.

Stay in the lodging they offer. I went to school up there at MTU, it’s cold. Don’t stay in car. It’s also the upper penninsula, lodging/rent/food etc is all cheap.

I've got a couch about 40 minutes away from boho if you can't find a bed. We have been getting dumped on all week. This weekend is gonna be nuts.

That being said, it gets real coldd here and lonnie doesn't like people car camping in the lots

When'd you graduate?

Fall 2017, I used to live right above Rythem/Sumis facing the hill. I’d highly recommend trying to live in one of those apts after dorms. We left our pool table there.

That's hilarious, I was looking at them this summer, the pool table in particular caught my eye. I missed the lease date and I've got a house now but given the location I'd definitely

want to snag one of those down the road.

Damn, you were probably standing in my old room at some point. Crazy.
