Im trying to make plans to spend a few days north of Bella Coola. Have to learn how to winter camp first. I have a friend that lives near Kashmir in India. He is offering to take me in and be my local guide.

Circle of giants, Baffin Island looks sick as fuck. I cant afford to go there though

My biggest problem (except money) is, that none of my friends is into skiing, so i have nobody to go with, so im looking for people from other countries, but is kinda hard to find them.

NS is the best start. Its like a dating site for skiers, without the awkwardness or sex.

The next best thing is to find people on the hill, befriend them and you got a skiing buddy. There is a higher chance to find someone thats into adventure skiing in Europe. Picking up hitch hikers with skis is a great way too.

I offer a room to stay in for international travelers and be a local guide for them. Thats how I meet my partners.

Yes, i would love to make new friends that way, but there is no hill nearby, our winters are like a fucking schyzophrenic. Whole month of cold as fuck without snow and when it start to be warmer (like a damn spring, with 15 celsias) is suddenly snowing but its melted instantly. And this proces is 4 TIMES DURING MY WINTER, WICH IS TRAGICOMEDY! I must laugh, because i would commit a suicide if it make me sad.

Reminds me of Quebec and Ontario weather before I moved. I was sick too of the shitty weather, lack of snow and the crap attitude skiers have. One season, my area received 15cm TOTAL annual snowfall. The next season was 25cm total annual.

Your solution is to move. If winter wont come to your region, change regions. Go on a ski bum trip to the Alps. Take a shitty car, a tent and your gear and live in a parking lot until you meet someone that can take you in. Its hard living, but its an experience of a lifetime.

Track the storms. I know, easier said than done. I would travel 5-6 hrs just to find snow and skiable weather. If skiing is what you live for, you have to make the effort. I dont know how friendly people are in Europe, but in Canada, I can find a shelter within a day of arrival. Just have to talk to people, then if they seem cool, ask them about couch surfing.

I have a friend in Switzerland that was complaining about the weather in the Southern alps, so she picked up her gear and flew to British Columbia without plans or any idea how the snow will be. Turned out to be the deepest season in 10 years. Take a chance and try.

Mountain Creek in New Jersey, seen too many edits there to not ski their park at some point.

i live 45 minutes from mountain creek. if ur in the area definitely go there but its not worth the drive if your far. people like traveling circus are insanely good at making parks look way better than they are, trust me its not as good as it looks lmao.

also ski sundowns a good example, i went there this winter to see how good it was but turned out to be a 2 hour drive for nothing.

*not hating just letting u guys know incase u wanna go there*

I've had some great days skiing with random people who's name I never learned. Just be outgoing and friendly and anyone who's worth your time talking to or skiing with will be down to ski or talk or whatever.

Sunset Park Peretol at Grau Roig Ski Resort in the country of Andorra. (AKA where they film SLVSH cup.)

Guys, trust me, i want, but its pretty hard to meet new people when they arent on the slope. Im from the Czech Republic. No offense, i love my country, its pretty good, best beer here, but when you have twintips here, you are still the weird guy, because it isnt popular here. It is getting better every season, thanks God. We are not on the same level like Austria, Switzerland or France. Also pow skiing basically doesnt exist here due lack of snow and good mountains.

I know that i should move closer to mountains. I really want. But dont want work in hotel for few euros, so first of all want to successfully end my University and go closer not only to mountains, but find a job related to skiing (My dream job is something like product manager in Dynafit, Scarpa or something like this). Job wich will be meaningful for me. Not only job where i will go for 8 hours everyday only for having money wich i would spent on skiing.

And also as a student, im broke as fuck. But find solid part time job in Decathlon, so i have 25% discount on everything now. At least something.

Some spots in Iran and Iran. Morocco. Antarctica. Japan. Several places in South America. Alaska. China might be going on there.

Kashmir in India as my best mate lives over there for work.

Slovakia as a friend has a long term Slovakian girlfriend and said the mountains there are nuts.

Afghanistan to take part in the afghan ski challenge.

Yeah my friend goes to michigan tech and he's told me it's insane. Lots of powder, not crowded, extremely cheap. Apparently they don't groom at all, on closing weekend he said that there were patches of grass everywhere, and instead of trying to fill them in they just had little jumps everywhere so you could clear the gaps between snow patches

Yeah I heard it's basically as hardcore as it gets. especially as far as midwest skiing goes.

Haha this is so crazy I was just thinking yesterday how I wanted to go here. Plus they offer a $99 season pass sale on one day in December and their lodging is cheap if you go with a group. Only negative thing is it's in the middle of BFE and difficult to get to. Their vertical isn't very impressive, but it's enough and nothing is groomed (awesome)! Still looks sweet though. Have to go once.

There's a ski race in Afghanistan that would be rad, also Iraq looks dope. Probably gonna do a middle eastern ski trip at some point, and also hit up India and Pakistan.

Heaven on earth. The atmosphere is so chill and positive, get some friends together & rent out a yurt for a weekend. The terrain is ridiculously fun and technical, not to mention you can go anywhere as there's free shuttle service back for those who venture away from the lifts. All you have to do is ski down to the road & wait for a couple minutes. I mean my buddy legitimately smoked a blunt on a couch in the lodge during their spring jam a couple years back. C'mon

Slovakian girlfriend is the best what you can get. Here in the Czech Republic you are boss as fuck when you got that one.

Well University party with a lot of slovakian chicks today. Wish me luck guys.

That one community park in SLC that's always in videos. And I think it would be cool skinning up Tory Mountain in Canaan Valley, WV

Hawaii, Morocco, Gulmarg, Riksgransen(not really unusual),Bohemia looks fucken dope from what i've seen here

Im living in Tromsø, Norway and I think this place is really special. City is far up above arctic circle and offers amazing street skiing, but it take only 30min drive and you find epic mountains where you can ski 1000 vertical meters straight to the sea level. 1.5h drive away is magnificent Lyngen alps, where skiing is possible even in June/July. If weather is bad around Tromsø, you can drive 2-3hr more inland and find epic, playful terrain in Tamokdallen.

Don`t know anyone besides Field production and The Bunch who have filmed they stuff here.

oh shit what's that place called in like newfoundland and labrador or something like that? there's a fucking massive mountain range that i wanna visit cause it's probably the closest decent bc to me haha
