She sucks. She also goes off on huge rants about how she cares about the environment and shit.....yet literally all she does is fly around the god damn world.

I remember she went on a huge rant about how she never uses straws or some shit.....and the next day she was in fucking Fiji to surf. I think you blowing through jetfuel is a lot worse than a recyclable tiny piece of plastic

It's cause they get stuck in animals and shit, I get the whole plastic thing but being extreme about it is so annoying. I followed her because she's not bad looking, but she's also just a weird person it seems, super earthy and granola type shit.

Am I the only one who honestly doesn't even find her that attractive?

Shes not hot, but I don't find her very ugly, but pretty skinny. There are way better looking skier girls though.

Everyone cares way to much about what everyone else is doing or what everyone else thinks.

Everyone compares their lives way too much with others.

You have no right to judge/belittle any other skier on the mountain. We were all beginners at some point.

If everyone could just be happy with who they are and do what makes them happy, there would be no wars.

I'm sure you've seen the effects of consuming a vast amount of energy drinks when it comes to kids, adolescents and teens - hyper, crazy, apparently a shitload of sleeping problems and inability to focus during school etc. etc. That's why I said it's regrettable we don't have any completed long-term research yet. They've banned kids under 15 buying energy drinks in Finland and for a good reason in my opinion. A regular 0,33 can of your favorite energy drink contains roughly the same amount of caffeine as your normal cup of brew, but people tend to chug them a lot faster and especially if going with Diet editions, the sweeteners/sugar substitutes are bad news bears, not to mention most of them have that glucose suryp shit as most soft drinks and a decent amount of E-codes swimming around.

Drink what you want, but just looking at the constitution of the drinks in comparison it's clear which are less healthy for you.

Your post has no relevant facts. All you say is that

a.) caffeine is bad for kids-- I wasn't arguing that caffeine wasn't bad for kids - I was comparing energy drinks to OTHER caffeinated alternatives, and more specifically, for adults.

b.) That people tend to drink energy drinks faster-- which I've actually never heard of...and actually again, that wouldn't make them worse for you than other forms of caffeine, that's just a behavioral problem.

c.) That sugar substitutes are "bad news bears"- but most of them are made with sucralose (Splenda) or stevia - sugar substitutes that a vast majority of coffee drinkers put in their coffee anyway. Are there studies that show that Splenda and stevia are super bad for you? I don't know if any are made with aspartame (the known bad-for-you sugar substitute)

d.) That "most of them have that glucose syrup shit" - false. I'm not even sure what glucose syrup you're talking about but it isn't found in sugar free energy drinks.

e.) That they have a "decent amount of e-codes swimming around"- assuming this means additives based on a quick google search, and again, that statement doesn't actually provide any factual evidence that there is something wrong or bad for you here.

So all I heard in your post is the same opinion that I hear all over the place--the "popular opinion--which is "energy drinks are terrible for you because they're full of sugar and caffeine and other junk and bad for you stuff"-- which is why I posted my unpopular opinion, which is that they're not bad for you, relatively. I mean sure, if we're comparing them to water, or green tea, then you're likely better off without them. However, when compared to your average Starbucks drinks, I'd venture to say that sugar free energy drinks are actually quite a bit better for you. *gasp!*

So no, I don't agree that its "clear which are less healthy for you."

If you asked me whether I thought a black cup of drip coffee was healthier than a sugar free energy drink, I'd probably guess that yes, it is. However, most people I know don't order black drip coffee. If they do they add cream and Splenda. Most of them order lattes, or flavored lattes, or mochas, or frappuccinos. The "popular" opinion around my place of work is that "energy drinks are so bad for you" while they all sip their fat and sugar laden designer lattes.

The thug era of skiing needed to/still needs to die and people need to stop holding onto it. A little bagginess in your outerwear is cool, but don't pretend to be something you're not

The whole weed thing or anything involving smoking is so stupid and I’ll never understand why people like it

Don't knock it till ya try it. Shits mad fun on the slopes.

but on another note, fuck weed. I just quit smoking recently. Became such an unhealthy habit. I was smoking at least 3-4 times a day. Was definitely addicted to some degree. I ended up spending well over 1,000$ on it after one year of heavy smoking. I had to get a second job so I could afford it. After a while I started getting sick and my brain felt like it was melting everytime I smoked.

Idc how many times I hear “it’s not a gateway drug”. I don’t trust any of that shit and it’ll end up being a decision I’d regret if I gave in. There’s much more in life that makes me happy and a big one is just a good ole day on the mtn.

I’ll never resort to that shit, I’ve known too many people that have ODd and they all started on weed. And they all said it’s harmless and non addictive all that shit

I remember when I was like you back in middle school, but then I realized it's a fucking plant that helps with pain and so many other things in my life. Currently on a break from it but if you pay attention to anything you'll know prescriptions cause more heroin addicts than weed, not saying people won't turn to coke or smack from smoking pot but in the modern day people who smoke are typically either potheads or people who wanna relax once in a while. Not trying to hate on you, it's not bad you don't wanna try it but don't go shitting on it because that stuff "saves" lives while every other drug ruins then.

Inline skating is sick and should be accepted at skate parks.

Wish there were more of them, was bombarded by scooter kids while me and a few other good skaters had the park alone. One threw a coke bottle in my way and he's lucky I'm not a minor anymore.

I'm right there with you man. After 6 years of piffing hard, I finally hung up the phone a couple weeks ago. If it goes well, I'm getting rid of my glass in a little bit. It was giving me anxiety attacks by the end, sounds similar to what you describe

I understand, my lifelong best friend doesnt drink or smoke because of a family problem and I respect him for it, he knows weed isnt even that bad but still just avoids it. Just dont bash someone for using it, its most likely not gonna kill them purely on its own and some people truly need it. Some people just like being clear headed all the time and thats cool, probably better honestly but if I can Ill be burning throughout my life whether or not its daily or once a year.

A. Granted.

B. "That people tend to drink energy drinks faster-- which I've actually never heard of" People chug energy drinks like there's no tomorrow where I'm from, at work, at school, during leisure hours etc. and although what I've seen with my own eyes may not constitute a majority representation of energy drink users, I'd argue that you seldom have people "chugging" coffee down their throats in the same manner as energy drinks. It's a beverage-type drink, which many do not seem to take their time drinking it compared to the average coffee.

C-D. After some quick research, the effects of different sucralose have been raising eyebrows in current research in how they affect you badly. This Splenda seems to have been approved for general use as a sugar-substitute by the US FDA just in 1999, which once again points in the direction that we are only recently starting to get hard data on the effects of long-time use of artificial sweeteners. I can't comment on what is "super bad" or not, I'd say any artificial shit is bad for you when used for a long time and not in moderation. As for the glucose shit, I meant high fructose corn syrup, which after some quick research apparently isn't used (anymore?) in that many energy drinks, I found a list of 25+ products only which didn't seem to include the most popular ones like Monster, Red Bull etc. As for stevia, seems like it's used in conjunction with other sweeterners/additives over here at least, can't say about your laws.

E. As with the aforementioned artificiality, any additives in your diet should be viewed in a critical manner. Why is it there, is it necessary, how does it affect you etc.

The crux of my arguments relied on what you said here:

"If you asked me whether I thought a black cup of drip coffee was healthier than a sugar free energy drink, I'd probably guess that yes, it is."

Then again, what surprises me is this ""However, most people I know don't order black drip coffee."

It's mostly a misunderstanding from my part since all these orange mocha frappacinos, flavored lattes and whatnots are not coffee in my opinion, so we think the same way in the end about that. Nice chat anyway and thanks for the reply.
