Unpopular opinion thread

eh i havent skied a run through it in a solid year and half almost. maybe even two. just to see what its like again. all my friends kill it at pipe skiing so its fun to ski through it and watch them throw down. its fun as shit lapping that thing in the spring when its soft though.

Oh I agree, there is nothing more satisfying then airing full out of a pipe, my concern is for the people, like you alluded to, that take it too seriously. Seems like such a trivial aspect to skiing.

it just baffles me. comp pros need a better outlook on skiing i think. all to worried about their training runs and weather and shit like that. just go out and ski, the best pros throw down in any situation.

That's exactly what I meant. Probably just worded it appallingly. I sympathize for the wounded, however I don't feel sympathetic for soldiers who want respect just for joining. It is there career choice.

Also about the cats I just feel that they are so smug about everything and don't appreciate a companionship. However cat pictures are funny.

Religions is pointless

Weed over Alc

Walking dead sucks

People worry to much

Small groups of friends are better than college parties

Money is to important

-The affordable care act will help the US in the long run

-Fake leather almost always looks tacky

-There is no excuse for not being a tidy person

-High fashion is dope in the right context

-Androgynous females can be kinda hot (no homo)

-Fully cambered skis can be just as fun as rockered ones

I have an irrational pure hatred of the Mormon faith and other religions in that vain of lunacy.

I enjoy big mountain and out of park skiing a lot, but if given the option of a pristine pow day or a perfect park, it'd be a 50/50 choice. They're both skiing... the sport I adore and love... so either way I'd be happy. And yes, I am good at real skiing...

Stephen Colbert is not that funny.

He is not, and neither is Stewart.

Also: i think the star wars prequels are awesome save for Hayden Christiansen's acting. That was pretty horrible haha. Otherwise, the story and the characters are great.

Here are some that are particularly unpopular on NS:

-The US needs socialism

-Rational belief in God is totally possible

-Science can't answer every meaningful question

-Gender =/= sex

-The US needs to regulate guns way more

-The purpose of college isn't job training

-There's way too much sexism on NS

-There's more to life than skiing

I've been out west... And my definition of big mountain isn't good I know but I think most people here know what I mean bro

Just giving you crap as a fellow mn skier haha, but I've only been out west once (last week), got up on the Jupiter lift at park city after over a foot of snow and that was unbelievably satisfying- even in park skis. Not really anything like it in Minnesota at all except for some short steep natural terrain at giants ridge and lutsen. Definitely returning sometime, maybe to a place with more natural terrain, I just chose PC because it is really good for just about everything.

the day of silence thing is just plain stupid. It is counterproductive in school, especially when teachers attempt to teach an entire period of class without talking. this will do absolutely nothing to counter homophobia

I lost my voice that day, and a teacher yelled at me for not being able to answer stuff. It was pretty funny.

Yes, and maybe I was rash in saying what I did because I too just recently had about a foot of fresh at Arapahoe basin and that was unlike anything i'd ever experienced in my life. Definitely one of top 5 things I've ever done

people make too many groupings of sexuality....you want equality? stop segregating yourselves into groups and just promote general acceptance instead of all these random/vague names we are expected to know or else we are branded homophobic

OFWGKTA is trash, there following is 12 year old white kids in subarbs

I don't go to school anymore and can't say I even participated when I did but I've always been under the impression its an awareness thing. It obviously does nothing in the way of countering homophobia, but it does show the small lgbt population at whatever school that kids do care just enough to take a public stance. I still totally see where you're coming from but I can definitely tell you it means something to lgbt kids.
