i haven’t seen it so i can’t actually rate it but one of harlaut’s recent movies was definitely shit on by many

wasnt the general consensus that this movie was ass?

It was sick when it came out but by the time it was free to the public it was kinda dated. By the time it went public the footage was literally 4 years old and the editing style was completely irrelevant by then

My guess is a lot of people don’t actually know how to ski moguls and don’t want to learn. The general attitude I get when I mention trying to improve my own mogul skiing is “moguls suck”

Moguls slap, it’s always really fun to get creative, then boosting that last one in the field.

Is there a good way to improve a boring topsheet without looking like that 4Runner with way too many national park and brewery stickers on the back?

Why is there no mogul skiing in ski movies any more? I'm not talking about that competition stuff where the course is the same every time. Steep trails with natural moguls are really sick, and it takes a lot of skill to ski them aggressively with style. There are so many challenging lines you can take and opportunities to do tricks. I feel like it's a missed opportunity to do something a little different, and it's where freestyle originated, so why is no one doing it anymore? I'm not asking for a full mogul movie, just a few clips here and there in between the usual stuff would be sick.
=163s&ab_channel=888anam mogul skiing around 4:20 in this video

the editing was silly at times but the riding was phenomenal

this sums it up well. I wouldn't exactly say the reception was bad but I definitely think there were a lot of people who saw it and didn't like the editing (song choices, woosh noises, etc)

Most new outerwear is boring and lacks personality, I remember when everyone had crazy color combo jackets, and unique gear, there were weird patterns, and shapes on jackets and snow pants. also weird features, and pockets. My old jackets have better features, then my ones ten years newer, my new jackets are considered high end, and made by some high end company's. Now everything is super played out and looks pretty much the same, and lacks essentially a "cool" factor to them

Same with gloves/mittens. Misfitten Mittens are still the greatest mitten ever. Also why is it that companies ditched the little squeegee on the top of the thumb. That shit was so good.

Dakine gloves have it.

When are resorts going to stop deep-throating NSP and the OEC Scope? It's technically a step below EMT-B's yet EMT qualifies for job positions and you still have to do your OEC Bridge but it's a totally different ballgame that's a shitshow

I just hate how it's based off of reading books and not hands-on exposure. I've been on some gnarly calls in the last 2 seasons and everyone got home safe due to great team work and patient care, yet I have some boomer volly who only fulfills the week requirement for the season telling me that "it's not how I would do it" and therefore failing me.

I’m not sure how popular this opinion is but Few Words has got to be the greatest ski movie of all time, hands down.

it's one of the only ski movies ive ever recommended to a casual skier buddy

Is it just me or is it getting harder to tell good skiers from Jerries in the lift line? Like when you approach them to ask to ski they actually suck.

Haha they are starting to figure out dressing the part… but then they take one step in ski boots, or one push of the poles and you know. even just how someone stands at rest in there skis can give it away.

If you see someone who looks like they just walked out of REI, head to toe in brand new gear, they probably suck at skiing.

Honestly the “jerries” I see who rep costco outerwear and ride rental skis rip harder than these rich dorks

Fractured my scapula skiing frozen moguls with 3" powder after ejecting and sommersalting a number or times, one of which I slammed my upper back into a mogul. If you know where the scapula is, pretty wild to break in on Moguls. But the skiing before hand was rad, just got too confident; that was two seasons ago, and still riding moguls for sure. Agree 100% with the spring days, when those moguls have a nice warm glaze look, oh man. On that note, really few better places than to practice switching with butters than on those kind of moguls, looking like a drunk helicopter going down

springtime Chute 75 laps are heaven for the soul, and hell for the thighs.

Moguls are sick in the right conditions. Barely covered frozen moguls on a pow day are shitty. 50* and sunny with soft moguls, a beer, and the boys is all time

I'm talking about the rei dweebs. Was running the magic carpet last weekend and saw a dude in full arcteryx, the ugly Oakley helmet, fall lines, hawx 120 ultra xtd boots, rustler 9's with duke 16's. I immediately sussed him out and asked how he liked the bindings for touring and he spat back this: "a little heavy but good for tour." Seriously, my dude read a random review off marker.

armada got some lame ass fucking prices unless they legitimately have better sidewalls and overall construction

Some people who rock Montec are more of shredders than those bumping acrteryx sometimes. Flylow and 686 are the shit tho.
