Taking a break from doing Gods work and saving an IG kids life to come full 180 hater mode and say that the new faction movie is without a doubt the shittiest video ive ever seen in my life from a ski quality to enjoyment ratio. I hate to be the guy but someones gotta say it because its a shame seeing these banger clips being conceptually assaulted by pure tryhardness. There is a direct correlation between how ''artisitc'' you try and make a ski video and how shit it is. ie: The new movement video, the new faction vid, the jossi wells ballerina vid. People want to watch skiing, the worst thing you can do as a video editor is take too much creative control and try to push some stupid concept in my face.
 
The skis are like a paintbrush and Alex Hall is the da Vinci of skiing. All the other faction bros create the fucking teenage mutant ninja turtles of skiing.

On a serious note why the fuck were they talking about commercialism in a movie about a brand

spot on, faction is played/SOLD out, and the "skiers are artists", made me laugh out loud...

the skis are not freestyle, whether you pick em up at tjmaxx or a ski shop... and they shine poorly on alex hall as he tries to flex them into butters, and they just dont flex at all...

overall sick skiing, gnarly crashes, amazing free video.

its just tough when redbull media dropped a shot of a wakeskater, towed into a base jump by a drone today...
 
I saw the a few clips from it and I don't know what it is but I hate drone follow cams on park features.

In all seriousness I don't fuck with faction but they have one of the most stacked teams in the world of skiing, I haven't watched but there's no way it's actually unwatchable I refuse to believe Koga, Antti and Ahall can be boring in any capacity
 
Haven't watched the whole thing but the fake David Attenborough intro is mega cringe. The whole "skiing art painting blank canvas" thing has already been done and it's still lame. Breaking the fourth wall was corny and not funny. The cinematography was good but the editing seems uninspired and the songs sound like they're copyright free. The skiing is really dope and the line up is stacked, which makes me even more sad to imagine how much better this video could've been if different decisions had been made. I know a lot of skiers enjoy videos like this, and that's fine, but this is ridiculous. All this to say I agree, except I think video editors/filmers can do a good job of making artistic ski videos like Interpretation but sadly the correlation between an artistic concept and overall shitiness is generally true imo.
 
top notch skiing and filming with insufferable narration. If there was like 2 minutes of narrator it would have been fine, but to filling the entire video with it was super annoying

Nah I don't think anyone's saying their skiing is boring, there's some top notch skiing in this one. It's more so that everything else in the video is really bland

Ya you nailed it right on the head. The skiing is obviously unbelievable. And It honestly pisses me off shitting on peoples vid, I don’t wanna be the guy, it actually makes me uncomfortable tbh, but I can’t sit here and watch dudes risk their lives and get buck in the streets and have their video ruined by stupid editing. The new movement has 3K views and 8 likes. Its a shame knowing what goes into videos like this and seeing the outcome.

Just watched it and God damn, what a waste of a Mac Forehand masterclass... such a shame man, and Koga a sicko but somehow they made the softest possible edit of some of the hardest shots I've ever seen. So upset about this.
