like many of you i think the term unnatural is stupid, and i may have found a new and better way to describe it. snowboarders/skaters say backside and frontside right? well we should have leftside and rightside, so if you spin a 3 to your left thats a leftside 360. some people say they wouldnt wanna copy snowboarding like that but what about the grab names, most of them are stolen

You are hurting the industry. When snowboarders see skiers like Fred and Randall doing stupid flailing 360 attempts 8 inches off the ground, they laugh there heads off, and skiing takes another blow. Wow. This is retarded. It doesn't make any sense to use leftside and rightside.

Unnatural indicates the skier is spinning to their weak side, which is harder than spinning to your strong side. Therefore, the trick is more tech if done unnatural.

Leftside/Rightside doesn't indicate the skiers strong side or weak side, so it doesn't mean shit.

^actually if you use leftside and rightside it works out pretty good. Since a person doesn't know your natural side and if you say unnatural they might not know what you are talking about...o well. It helps distinguish what trick you are doing.

I usually use dirty. I HATE the term 'unatty' my ex-boyfriend didn't like either of those and so his spin-off of dirty was 'mexican' which is dumb too but funny because a couple of my friends are mexican so you can do a spin and get to go say 'DIRTY LIKE A MEXICAN!'

I call it unnaty dirty and natty nothing. so i can do a 360 or a dirty 360. unattural (unatty) is kinda cumbersome. and leftside/rightside sounds good to me...but i think we'd just get shit from snowboarders saying we copied em

Yeah, thats a good idea. I've thought about it too, but i doubt it would ever catch on. Kinda like 'darkside' for switch-unatural didnt really catch on either.

K2skier, the point is: leftside and rightside don't indicate if the trick was done to the skier's weak side, which makes it a harder trick.

That's the whole fucking point of the unnatural(or 'dirty,' which is just as good) label, to indicate the trick was harder for the skier.

hteo nly problwem with leftside rightside is that some poeple like me spin naturally to the right so it would fuck it all up. i think its fine the way it is, baecuse innatural rotations are bad ass and should be cooler than a natural spin because they are way harder.

I say unatty is fine but left,rightside kind of sounds posuer style if your gonna change make sure its a better name like dirty for example.

what if I spin rightside? it makes no sense. think of it in a comp format, I'd get more points for spinning natural than I would unnatural. it doesn't really work. It doesn't really matter what you call it as long as you get yuor point across
