University of montana bozeman, sierra nevada college right in tahoe, UC Boulder and Salt lake city come to my mind at the moment. all close to some sick skiing.

UBC, right by whistler

UBC isn't right by whistler. It's an hour and a half away, if not two.

if you wanted to get away from the o-town scene, but wanna stay closer to home (trust me, it can be a good thing) come hit up Bishops (www.ubishops.ca) We are close to jay peak and sutton, plus there are 8 or 9 other hills around, most within 20 minutes of campus. and your still only 2 and a half hours from tremblant, just on the other side of montreal...

im just passing along my conclusions from when i did the very same research as you 1 year ago, I came to the conclusion that Bishop's was the best university for skiing in eastern canada. You wanted to know where some good ski universities are. Bishop's is a good ski university.

ubc is great for going to whistler. The pass is super cheap, only $400 (regular $1700), and you can bus up there from ubc if you don't have a car.

im saying ubc (where i want ot go), or my second choice, montana state. i know some of the faculty at msu, and they are super cool people(one is an uncle of mine). plus, the ridge at bridger makes a season pass worth it.

watch out I have BADD

BYU is a good school in Utah.

WWU in Bellingham, WA is somewhat close to Baker. Whistler isnt too far away.

if your main reason for college is a ski college, there is no reason why you shouldnt go to univ. of utah. pretty good school, and the best skiing out of any college. park city for park, downtown SLC for rails, snowbird/alta for big mountain, all within 30 minutes from campus. and the morman thing isnt nearly as bad as everyone who doesnt live in SLC says it is. you can always find people to drink and party with.

UofU is the shit and i dont even go their. just visited my buddy a few times and its awesome. i would tranfer in a heartbeat but i got the lady to take care of

''Independence is for the very few; it is a privilege of the strong. And whoever attempts it even with the best right but without inner constraint proves that he is probably not only strong, but also daring to the point of recklessness. He enters into a labyrinth, he multiplies a thousandfold the dangers which life brings with it in any case, not the least of which is that no one can see how and where he loses his way, becomes lonely, and is torn piecemeal by some minotaur of conscience. Supposing one like that comes to grief, this happens so far from the comprehension of men that they neither feel it nor sympathize. And he cannot go back any longer. Nor can he go back to the pity of men.'' -my buddy, Fred
