There's a college in fernie. It's really small and only offers a couple full time courses. The best one is an outdoor rec course. You do a lot of camping, hiking, backcountry training...basically learn to do it all out doors. As a bonus you get a pile of gear. All your camping gear and backcountry gear is part of your tuition so you get a big refund for it from the government.

Another good one is the the university in kelown with big white a stones throw away.

they have higher education in canada? no way! we should definately make it the 51st state now

(i hope my canadian roomate reads this)

I'm at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Not much of a ski town...but there is lots of beer and ladies. What else do you want (besides skiing....tear...)

Yeah, Seattle is pretty close to a lot of goods, but if you want to be close to whistler, but in the states, you can't get any closer than WWU, its about three hours from whis and about an hour and a half from baker.

Representing Western (University of Western Ontaio) but from Vancouver

If you want something good in BC go to UBC for sure. 2 hours from Campus, the Ski Club has a huge cabin on the hill, and students get $350 season passes, canadian.

Why I'm not going there, I don't know

Im goin to iowa state right now........not to much for skiing or at that rate any snow. but i am goin to breckinridge over thanksgiving break for 5 day. beats iowa

UBC in Vancouver is a great school if you're looking for a serious education. We all know the 2 hour drive to Whistler would be well worth it on the weekends and anywhere in between for the weekdays..... There are plenty of schools in the states with good access to hills within 30 mins or less (our hill is on campus).....

yeah UBC's great. Whistler's a 1.5h drive away and I don't know about Baker but it should be about 2 hours from campus. And we also have three local mounts (Cypress, Seymour, Grouse) and Seymour's got an awesome bc and Grouse has a nice park. If you live in the fraser valley suburbs of vancouver, Baker and Manning park are nearby. for weekend trips you can't beat the BC interior or even Mt. Washington on Vancouver Island. Simon Fraser University is in Vancouver as well and one of the top small universities in Canada, though more science, app. sci, and social science based than UBC. it's better than ubc in those areas one can argue. UBC's on par with U of Michigan i'd say so good education. and UBC needs more skiers, the number of jibbers out here is a joke.

morebums4me... where is that? that your hill is on your campus?

simon fraser is in vancouver as well, and is a much better skool than ubc in my opinion

or capp college in squamish. it;s like 45 min from whistler, acadia kills it. i'm there now. but it's not really close to any ski hills... or any good ones at least. it's close to one, i'm not sure how good it is, but a season pass for it is $99... about the price of two tickets at whistler.

BCIT in Vancouver. Now, all I need is some time off school so that I can ski. 30hrs of class a week sucks.

I went to Cambridge University in the UK.

I bet I'm the only one representing here!

Bawb, I can trace this wanting for abuse back to your childhood i see it all the time. See growing up you had two dads, whereas everyone else you knew had a dad and a mom. This put you in the 'outsider' catagory right off the bat. Some of your earliet memories were bad sounds coming from your parents bedroom. The crack of leather whips and chains echoed through the hall of your mobile home. One day when you braved the nerve to open the door to this room of horror. You opend the door and saw both of you your dads with their mustaches where they didn't belong. Since that moment in your life you have craved abuse, someone that could beat those memories out of your little head. - Dr Von ReefSideRider

SVHucker, have you gone on any of the All Cal trips with the ski and snowboard club?

UCSC represent, slugs are dope

Im trying to find the best school that has access to he most mountain in Colorado.

Fort Collins seems a bit far, like 3 hours, not 2 to most areas.

Whats the best school in colorado for skiing?

CU Boulder and the School of Mines are good if you want a good 4 year school. Colorado Mountain College is good for 'alternative' 2 year programs and they're actually in the mountains. Western Stae (aka Wasted State) is also closer to the mountains but it earns it's nickname.

ALL CAL! ALL CAL! ALL CAL motherfucker ALL CAL! If you can't drink beer like Davis can then you shouldn't have a motherfuckin cup in your hand!

hell yeah all cal is the greatest trip ever. and the SC ski club folks are all cool, we hang out with them all the time. we're goin to breck this year; me and 600 or so of my closest friends are taking that town over in december. be prepared

School of Mines isn't the easiest to get into. I got in there, but that school blows it out the ass hard for the social scene. They are on a lot of college review lists for 'stone cold sober students.' I have you all beat, worst skiing, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN.

I heard that there was this ninja who was eating at a diner. And when some dude dropped a spoon the ninja killed the whole town.

I forgot to mention the close skiing. Crested Butte is 30 minutes away. Monarch is about 45. Telluride and Silverton are about 2-3 hours. Summit County is about 2 and half. Aspen is about 2-3. Plus, there is lots of sick backcountry for in ever direction.

yeah we had a 30 pack under every seat and two seats reserved for the wet bar, in front of me. 3 buses last year, looks like only 1 this year, which kinda sucks, but it'll be cool we'll all be on the same bus, which forces it to be a party bus. and this is gonna be the biggest all cal ever, as we're all going the same week this year
