University of Wyoming

I’m currently a junior in high school and looking into colleges. Just wondering what the ski scene is like at the university of Wyoming . Do people travel to the boat most weekends, ski the backcountry around the snowy range and Cameron pass, what are the skiers like that go there?

don’t quote me but someone told me it was one of the worst schools in the US. pretty harsh ik, but if you just want to fuck around and ski, it should treat you well

I live in Cheyenne and frequent Snowy Range. The mountain itself is small but I almost prefer it that way. They have a small-ish park with a couple medium sized kickers but it's never really busy and lots of college kids head up every weekend. Ski level on the open mountain id say it's a majority of beginner-intermediate skiiers and in the park its mostly advanced younger people. I always get a kick out of the huge skill gap that's pretty apparent. I don't know much about the back country skiing around the area, so i'm no help there. I absolutely love it out here and would suggest UW if you like skiing (snowy is like 20 mins away from campus). Also, to the guy saying it's the worst school in the country, check out the Niche rankings. Definitely not #1 but they don't fall low in the rankings on really any category.

I know a lot of people that go there and lived fairly close. Definitely not a ski school, but it is a decent outdoors school. I like Wyoming, but it doesn't go well with a lot of people. Definitely visit, and realize its not gunna have the ski scene that MSU, Cu's Utahs or other ski schools will have.
