Thats right! The University of Wisconsin-Madison is having a rail jam

Thursday, November 19. It is open entry for anyone over 18. I know that

some younger guys are going to be disappointed but we have to have 18+

for insurance purposes. For those of you who know the campus, it is

going to be on the Terrace. We are doing it in association with the

company Galvanic Design. They do all the cricket rail jams on the west

coast and asked if we wanted to put one on so we are. It isn't a

"Cricket Rail Jam" because they didn't have the extra money to cover

expanding to the midwest. So that means all of the funding is coming

from the school and the "Hoofer" ski and snowboard club.

There are opportunities for reps or any companies that would like to

send gear as well. We have room plenty of room for you guys to set up

tents and if you want to bring riders your companies represent, that

would be awesome.

More for the riders, there will be prize packs. They are coming from

big companies, we haven't put them together completely yet so we aren't

sure what is going to be in them exactly. But I promise they will be

sick. Anybody that needs more information let me know. I will keep

newschoolers updated as well.

So everyone be pumped for the school putting this on because it was a lot of work!

Sounds like a sick event! I will not be attending due being 6 months to young, but I would like to see some pictures and video after this goes down!

so lets say i will be about 2 months to young...can i just say im 18 and sign my waiver like i usually do and leave my ID in the car?

the event is going from 5-8 that thursday. Yea, its a huge bummer about the age stuff. It isnt up to me obviously. I actually argued about that with our board for a while but there isn't anything we can do. If you have a solid way of getting around it, then go for it but just keep it on the dl. But even if you aren't old enough to compete, you should go and check it out. Its on the terrace, there will be all kinds of cute college girls, there is gonna be a dj, and its a thursday at Madison so it is the first day of the weekend.

Oh, and I don't think Line is sponsering it but if you know someone and want to get them in contact with me I would totally be down.

Alright guys, I finally got some info on this...
I PMed the thread creator and he said that there is a fee of $25 to cover the cost of insurance. I also got a link to the website with information about the jam. In one spot on there, the way it is stated, it sounds like it is free to compete? Nowhere does it say there is a cost. But on the little flier it only says it is free to watch. Who would pay to watch a rail jam anyway...
It is 5-8pm on the terrace behind the Memorial Union on the UW Madison campus.
You need to fill out the application on the website and I guess you have to give links to photos or videos of you to prove that you are "legit" and then they will pick a group of people to compete out of the people who have submitted applications.
Kind of weird, but whatever.
Here is the website with all the information and there is a link on this website to the application you need to fill out.

everything that is going to be done is what they do for the cricket rail jam tour out west. So, trust me, its not a lot of work and it is going to be sick. We need more riders and you might not have to submit any videos or anything because we just want as many people as we can get. But it will be worth it, i mean who gets a huge crowd of rowdy college kids as well as local people to root them on for skiing. Come and show your shit off!!!

lets get some people to sign up and rep newschoolers. Basically just give them one picture of you riding a rail and that is all you will need. We are just looking to fill the ticket so if you can jib you are basically in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

cheaaa!!! i was scheduled to work 9-5:30 but i found someone to cover the last two hours, so i will be there, and i just applied
stoked!

You may be going by yourself, but you won't be the only one there! Plenty of NSers will be around to chill with you. Don't be shy, we don't bite.
6 hours til shred time!

Sick comp, fun set up, tons of spectators, all around good atmosphere.... Good job Hoofers! Hope you bring it back next year too.

This.
it was a lot of fun...i hope to see some sick edits surface online in the next week or two. If anyone sees an edit or pictures, if you could post them in here that'd be awesome!

1:47 and only one person finished a rail, lame. Setup looked fun. Wish I would have been around to enter.

such a sick set-up i wish it hadent been on a thursday so i could have gone. Nice work on making the event happen though.
