I am thinking of applying to this college, does anyone have any info they want to share with me about this school?

my girlfriend goes there and i visit all the time. i'm seriously considering transferring next year, it's a great school and i love it.

it's fun as hell. I don't go there, but I party there a lot. It's changed a lot over the last few years, it's no longer a hippy school, and weed is retardedly expensive now.

yeah weed's not cheap. i wouldn't technically say its "not a hippy school", depending upon your definition of hippy.. but it's still pretty active and pretty aware, and if being a hippie means doing drugs, theyre all around, too. it's a pretty awesome place though.. i love it up here. the lake the atmosphere the vibe.. its not exactly what it was.. but it's far from some crazy built up thing (like it will be within the next 10-15 years if fogel has anything to do with the program still).. it's pretty dope though. nice size, good learning, good school, good mountains, good vibes.. i'd check it out for sure. i didn't even look at the place until orientation, i just applied anyway.. but right away chose uvm, i'd definitely say give it a look.

what 36k a year? That is ubsurd, I'm sorry. Tuition up here in Canada is a fraction of that. I'm go to the university of victoria this year and tuition was 4500.

I was very close to going there. but in the end I decided on an in-state school because I figured UVM was too expensive and i would get way too distracted.

unfortunately the school i go to now has the same distractions. its a huge party school and EVERYONE smokes pot. oh and there is skiing too but it sucks.

I kinda wish I had gone there

I was accepted there before I even finished applying... didn't go though.

I hear it's a cool school, with a shit load of partying.

american education > canadien education

no im kidding american schools are so unbelievably overpriced. i go to duquesne which is 31k a year and we've got a cockroach infestation, cold water, and mediocre food.  but hopefully i land a sick job so whatever

you lost me there in your horrible spelling and grammar. American >

Canadian? you just said US is way overpriced...I think you switched

around the signs... AA?

I wish that UVM had been a good school for what I want to do...... such a sick place. If I don't move out west Burlington is probably the ticket.

I've never had the opportunity to do so many cool things as I have through the Rubenstein school at UVM.... its absolutely amazing if youre into anything environment/natural resources related.... amaaaazing.

its not as much as you would think. dry campus now, so of course theres still a ton of dorm drinking, but it has to be controlled and more secretive because cops come by from time to time.  as with any school. there is a shitload of partying...off campus. dorm room drinking doesn count as partying, and you cant have legit parties in the dorms.

i've lived in burlington and i have quite a few friends who have or are going to UVM. Its a really chill area, lots of people and stuff going on, close to ski areas, close to canada, easy to get weed and booze. And its not terribly difficult to be accepted and graduate. Overall i've heard good things.

Sweet, are you a senior? I'm a junior so I'm still looking around but UVM is just the kind of school I'd like to go to. I visited UNH last year when my sister was looking at colleges because my mom went there and I liked it too.

Its a solid place. Fogel has been doing his best to kill whatever groovy uv there was left though. And the food blows. To the person above, theres hardly hippies like there was even 2 years ago.

Well there are a lot of replys to this thread and i dont like to read them all so here is my two cents. UVM campus is amazing, just a walk away from church street and a really nice set of academic buildings and what not. But I would seriously go and visit if you are going to apply!

from what ive heard theyre not bad. I watched a tournament the other weekend at brown. they were there along with fairfield, brown, and bryant (pressler's new team). They looked pretty good.

If anyone plans on visiting UVM for a weekend or something and wants to go out and is not like 16 years old let me know haha

UVM is legit...skiings pretty good....plenty of mountains to go to and therzz a college pass for three of em...ill prolly go there next yr if i get in...pops werks there....free tuition biotch...

yeah im a senior. im doing early action there so i should know like mid december. im looking at some different business schools. Burlington is a sick place though, i would def like to go to school there.

I love it here, so much fun. School is school, but everything else great. You can just feel the suspense for skiing too.
