I want to transfer to that school next year and was wondering if anyone knew what g.p.a you needed. I can't find it on their site.

2.6 or 2.4 or something. some programs require higher. you can pretty much be retarded and get in there.

i just flew to salt lake to look at the U today. i'm def. appyling there and if i get accepted that's where i'm going, park city is only 30 min. away!!! ok so they have this weird grid system when it comes to getting accepted. it's called the admission index and you match up your SAT or ACT score with your g.p.a. and it gives you a number. the average 'number' that you need to get in is a 111, and that's about the equilvanlent of a 2.6 gpa and pretty good SATs. that's about the lowest though

'well i bumed into kristi once and she was like 'yo me and pep are gonna get big gulps, you in? and i was like, Shit yea bitch, let me bring rory bushfeild and hibbert, cause were really tight' -Mikael420

on that note, does anyone here go there? i LOVED it and i'm guessing there's a big skier population but i was just wonderin if any of the newschooler fam. went there

2.6 will get you in to the university but I believe nursing, business, and a few other 'colleges' within the university have special pre-requisit and g.p.a requirements

I've lived here for one year and this is my first semester at this university I love it here.

If all you jib monkeys come out here, thats fine, but you have to stay up in park city.

^ thats what im talking about. Send them all to PC and save alta for me! can't wait till next year UofU is gonna be amazing

I'm applying, and i don't think getting in will be an issue, 3.5 gpa and a 1300 sat. Im just going there to ski and learn too, but mainly because its the only cheap college in north america with skiing in close proximity close to the sickness of Jackson Hole. I like Salt Lake as a city too. But fuck 3.2 beer.

to all of you little incoming freshman, heres a piece of advise that you can thank me for later.

if youre applying from out of state, but in the western united states, check out the Western Undergraduate Exchange program. look on google. or something. basically, if you get accepted under this program, you pay 150% of resident tuition, which means that instead of paying 5200 bucks (roughly the non resident tuition) for 12 units, you could be paying like 2000.

If you dont get in here, you are dumber than a brick. That isnt to say that everyone here is dumb or that this school isnt a nice one, but they accept TONS of people. I love it here. Its perfect for skiing. I dont know of to many other schools where you can ski AND not have ditch school on the same day.

you have to like shitty terrain, but good snow in order to fully take advantage of the university

I think he means that in order to fully take advantage of your ability to school n' ski on the same day you're going to have to settle for the less gnarly areas like PC etc... Because it's closer... Less drving time= more skiing time...

No because PC and alta and snowbird are exactly the same distance from SLC

yeah they're both about 30 minutes away. I've skied colorado plenty and I've skied Utah for a season and the terrain is very compareable but Utah gets more snow from what I've seen.

We pay our debt sometimes.

Well, I was just trying to think outside of the box, as per translating what he was trying to say... Maybe he was speaking of the Canyons, and Brighton?

no, i am just not super impressed by utah in terms of the terrain. Granted, the snow is amazing, and yes, i ski out there about 20 times per yer, its my JOB, pretty much. This is a problem no matter where i go, because no place compares to Crested Butte, in terms of amazing terrain, besides european resorts.

Two Plank Productions - www.twoplank.com- bensomrak@twoplank.com

yes but everyone has their own opinion on what is cool terrain and i have never been to crested butte so i couldnt say. alta's just the shit haha

im not gonna try to compare utah with colorado because its soley based on opinions but i can say that skiing in utah is world of difference when it comes to ease of transportation and if you just wanta shoot up from S.l.C to any one of the 7 ski hills just 30 minutes away

What kind of shitty terrain are you talking about? I have lived here for 20 years and I still havent found it. (ok that was a little lie. I went to the canyons about 10 times, but that was about it)

I've never skied park city but the terrain looks fairly weak there from the road. As far as brighton goes yeah the resort is weak but the backcountry looks sick and theres not much you can take away from the steeps at alta resort and bc.

We pay our debt sometimes.

yeah PC terrain is alright and a nice jib park, but Alta is intence
