Hey i am thinking about going to grad school in utah and was wondering if anyone is a student there right now. I would be going for an MBA so anyone with advice or opinions of the school please share. I am not familiar with utah at all so what resorts are close to the school? i know its in salt lake but any others? Thanks a lot

i live in ut, and go to the u of u. i'm still undergrad, so i don't know how the grad school is, but utah is a sick place. 7 ski resorts all within a half hour, a few more probably 45 minutes away. lots of outdoorsy stuff, plenty of hikes and mtn biking trails in the fall and summer. and southern utah is badass for that hiking/biking too.

I applied there for grad school in biology this past year. Got an interview, but didn't end up getting accepted. My interview weekend was awesome, haha. I went back country skiing at Alta the afternoon after some interviews and then got on the plane back home that night.

I think it would have been a cool place to go. Before getting rejected, I'd say I was deciding between there and UT-Austin. I kind of wanted something different from CU where I went for undergrad, so I was hesitant to live in SLC. The people I met were the coolest and most normal of all the graduate students I met though. I was worried that SLC wouldn't be a great place to live not being an undergrad, but I'm sure its fine. I'm here in Austin now, which I really like a lot but obviously skiing is out. I'm not really bummed I'm not there cause I think it would be too frustrating balancing the work/school requried in grad school with epic skiing days there. Such a distraction.

I'll take my occasional trips there and be satisfied.

is it an easy school to get into? im applying there, and it looks like a good ski school. would an 87 average be a good enough grade to get in?

if you have a name you can get in.

in response to the thread creator...The U has a good business grad school, and SLC is a fun place.

The U is sick. Yea partying may not be as crazy as other schools, but theres still plenty of parties. I came from a huge party school to here and it's a little different but it's so nice to be so close to all the resorts.
