University of Michigan frat went hard

What is wrong with the youth these days? I'm glad they have to pay back half a million, but holy slap on the wrist from the University, banned for four years lol. I'd ban the frat forever.

Worthless frats

they banned them for 4 years because in 4 years all of those members will be gone from the school. So then when that time is up the nationals could start from scratch and try to recolonize with all new members if they chose to do so.

Usually how it works with frats is that you have to be badder than the previous occupants. I think having a reputation like this will cause the next people in the frat to top this.

Not really. Considering this happened, Nationals will probably revoke their charter and membership. The 4 year ban by the university is intended to phase out the current brothers and eventually, if their is interest in future years either nationals or students at the school will attempt to recharter. Chartering is an expensive and time consuming process by average standards. It's probably not likely to happen for another 5-10 years.

Would not expect any less out of people from Michigan...Go Bucks

I always think the Ohio State-Michigan rivalry is funny because of how Michigan is just infinitely better in academics. Like even when Ohio State wins a game they still loose cause Michigan is a better school at the end of the day.

how is this not grounds for expulsions for everyone involved? or are they expelled? like degree status revoked and all the bad rep and whatnot.

depends on if the student code of conduct allows the university to have jurisdiction over off campus incidents (yes thats a thing my university has it). don't ask me doe I was just explaining how recolonization works.

First off I don't see how that's 500k in damage... and also there's a difference between partying hard and getting belligerently drunk and just fucking breaking everything

Paying to fix everything, contractors, plus money they lost for not having those rooms available for rent.

college ski teams are pretty much "drinking teams with a skiing problem"- my race coach who was at the same hotel

apparently its $230000 for the damage itself and then labor and everything else to repair it is $200000
