Anyone go to University of Denver on here? like it? hate it? i am just looking to see what people think... k tahnks

Lots of rich kids here. Lots. Not so different from overall NS?

I'm graduating in June however, so I've got a bit of knowledge about the place if you have questions

i guess it all depends on what your looking for in a college experience. if you want greek life DU has it, its close to the mountains, but i hate the actual city of denver, theres some good concerts but other than that it can be dull. As someone already said, DU is an exspensive school so theres quite a lot of rich preppy douches here who think they own the place. Theres some chill kids here but i haven't found too many of them. As far as the actual education, the classes are pretty small so you have the ability to get to know lots of kids and your teachers if you choose to. Honestly though, i don't think the education is anywhere close to the price they put on it. Most of my classes have just thrown me a textbook and told me to learn from that. So if you have the money, fit in with prepsters and are interested in greek life I would come here, but i wouldn't expect the education to be any better than CU or any other school, after all education is what you make of it.

do they give a lot of scholarship money? (like merit based) Any way to get to ski resorts like shuttles or buses?

I applied (and really wanted to go there) with there with a 3.9 GPA and 28 ACT score and got $10,000/year. I was pretty pumped about that scholarship, but it's still ~$35,000/year after the scholarship... so I didn't go there.

Yeah im talking from my personal experience. If i could do it over again, i would have gone somewhere else. Not that no one should go here, If your not preppy I would not go here. Plus its really expensive for a mediocre education

what he's saying. There definitely are kids who are chill and not with the preppy crowd but you just got to find them. nice thing though is that alot of those rich kids have condos/houses in the mountains so if you befriend a little bit then you have a clutch place to crash during the weekends

I visited it, liked it a lot. would have considered it seriously if they had had a film school.
message PeteyG, he goes there

yea im goin next year..super pumped never been out skiing in CO...hopin there is a fair amount of chill people i meet..i know a few already..will def meet more when i get there

I have never met a smart kid who goes to DU. Bunch of kids who got 1250 on their SATs, think they are intelligent but are oh so mediocre.

Have fun on I-70 and good luck getting a job coming out of there.

im thinking about going there.id like to hear a lil more from the people that go there. you really think its just mediocore and the education is not worth the money?hows the overall vibe there? more chill or more frat bro?compared to other private schools hows DU with career placement after graduation?oh and what about skiing?any opinion helps.

Exactly what's on my mind. I'm 17 and will have my Associate of Arts through CMC next May and am planning to go there.

think of it this way..condoleeza rice, dick cheneys daughter, the guy who created molson coors company...all basically millionaires and insanely succesful..coming from du...i think its a great education..

Not to diss on the DU at all, because I know nutting about it. But, tons of schools have billionaires and/or famous people come out of them if not almost all of them. I personally just feel like using a billionaires and/or famous person to rep a any school is pointless. It is about the numbers and averages not the select few. In reality almost any form of higher education put into the right person is going to create great results, but most everyone is not that right person. Go to a school based on its average results and its constancy not because once or twice a great thing happened. Just my thought.

nah im more sayin like these people went to du and they ended up being really succesful..so im sayin its a good school in the sense that people have become very successful after coming out of du

The three people that I've met that went of DU appear to have excellent jobs and are pretty successful. On of them runs Steamboat mountain's marketing.

Bump - really hoping to get in here but I have heard the social scene can be quite cliquey and reminiscent of highschool. Can anyone comment on this?

Visited, applied, interviewed, and was accepted... Went to Oregon State, fuck the DU price tag. Nice place for sure though.

dude........... literally the exact same. it was number one for a while but i ended up at OSU. Do you go here now?

And I kinda wish i'd gone there but whatever OSU is tight as well.

I was deciding between CU and DU, I chose CU cause i think it has everything that DU has to offer and more, plus it was a better school for my major (engineering) but if you like a smaller school DU could be in

I visited early this summer and thought that it was pretty nice so it's my first choice right now. I just put in an early action application the other day and I'm hoping I can get a fair amount of money through need based stuff and whatever other scholarships they might throw at me, because as everyone has said it's pretty damn expensive.

Yeah dude I'm a sophomore. OSU isn't too shabby so I'm not regretting my decision so much haha. Didn't know of many NSers here.
