Hey Guys!
Anyone got some info/experience about universities around there. Anyone who have mixed studying and skiing? Would appriciate to hear your experience. How is Breck/colorado at summertime? Thought that it might be a little boring then (like most ski towns is here in norway)Thats why im thinking about PC and stuff with a greater population. and please, if you know about any other places with good people, good skiing opportunities and good universities, let me know.Just started thinking about this, so i have no idea of anything yet. Just thought that this is a good place to start getting info.
I do apologize for my English, from Norway

damn, lots of complicated things to go through. very large question with lots of information required haha. i can only comment on key/breck...

summers are slooooooow. not man people up in here but its definitely not as hectic touristy. its nice and homie.

school for someone coming from norway would = CU boulder, Denver U, Fort Collins, they are the biggest ones in the area. all have drive times of over an hour/hour and half to the mountains which people will debate depending on traffic/road conditions. but for the gist of things its an hour and a half. denver will be closer to an hour.

lots of swedes/norwedes whatever you guys call yourself so youll definitely fit it around vacation time haha.

do not go to CMC if you come across that name in your research. good school but not worth it for someone traveling across the pond.

do some research on those 3 schools i listed above here. look at a map of the region. its pretty easy to get a grasp of.

if youre trying to live in breck/key the commute to and from school would kind of make the point of going to school down in the front range kind of pointless. although i know many (and have done it myself) who do a semester like that. breck/key is definitely not the place to do serious studying. its a "neverland" made for having fun and chillin.

Thank you for the answer. Helped me alot!
And yeah, its ALOT to consider and alot of info. i kinda had the feeling that the Breck/Key area is too "relaxed" and more like a Ski bum area, stayed in breck 3 weeks last year. Thats why i thought of SLC, perhaps they have a better school inviroment.(?)But as i said im in the early face of figuring stuff out, and im not even sure it will happen. But it sure would be a dream to ski 3-4 days a week, while studying and lvining in the us!

U of U is ill, easy to get into, top 100 school in the nation and is 30 minutes to about 8 world class resorts.

Breck is definitely not boring in the summer. Mountain Biking, Hiking, Cliff Jumping, Long Boarding, Off-Roading, Camping, Kayaking, Parties. It might be slow and quieter than usual, but it's a nice break from the tourist season (Winter).

Park City, Canyons, Deer Valley, Snowbird, Alta, Brighton, Solitude. 7, whoops haha, but then its about hour/hour and a half to snowbasin (dew tour stop) and powder mountain too.

Breck is sick during the summer DH, rafting, ect... and I just had two buddies who finished at Colorado Mtn. College and they loved it. One of them took one class during at 12 in the afternoon and got to ski all mourning and afternoon/night at Keystone. They both loved it.

I believe you, i bet breck is awesome @ summertime. But have to admit, U of U sounds a bit more fun all year round (even though a winter in breck is pretty hard to beat)

8 World class resorts... but does one pass let you go to all of them?

We have the Vail Resort season passes... Good for Breck, Keystone, Vail, Beaver Creek, and A-Basin.

I don't think it would be more fun year round... but that's just me. I like the smaller towns/schools where you get to know everyone. I also don't think year round fun anywhere can beat the long ass winter in Summit County. You will be riding before anyone in the U.S. and after everyone (minus a few like Mt.Hood).

Yeah, but i wouldent ski EVERY single one of them, propably PC! But its good to have many to choose from. And yeah, i think a year in Breck would be SICK! Just that as some dude said earlier, its more like a chillin town, not that much a place to study. i think i can have both in U of U! (as im from Norway, i only talk out of what ive heard so far, so i might be totally wrong)

yeah CMC is a decent school, summit county is cool, but the people arent. there are alot of douches around summit county, which sucks, cause you meet someone cool, and then they have 10 tool friends that you have to be around.summers are awesome, theres tons of stuff to do. colorado has the best parks too, breck is awesome. and vail and beaver creek are awesome for powder days, and you got aspen not too far away, or a bit of a drive to wolf creek, telluride, crested butte, etc.. which are amazing for backcountry stuff.
ive been to utah quite a bit, and its pretty cool, the people are better than in summit, both area's are pretty similar, colorado's parks are a little better and CMC is an awesome school, so im about 50/50 between CO and UT.
mammoth would be awesome too, awesome park, awesome mountain, ive only been there once, but the mountain is amazing, great park and great bc, if there was one single mountain i had to ski at all the time mammoth would be it. seems like it might be slower there when your not skiing, or in the summers, which could be a good thing, cause trust me, you will get sick of the summit county lifestyle pretty quick..

CMC is a "decent" school? maybe if you want to work at a CMC as a janitor after graduating... Such a joke

theres a cmc in steam boat and i think leadville theres alwyas DU or red rocks community (i know alot of skiers who go there its about an hour from denver to key
