Undercover Cops

So last night at the bar, my friends and i were approached by a 45 yr old (ish) male, prolly about 5'9, 200 lbs, suit coat, bald head, and sunglasses on. He proceeded to offer us 300 for a ball. Not that we had it on us anywhere, we obviously declined. He kept bugging us all night, waiting til one walked away from the group, pressuring hard, raising his price to almost 400$. Obviously he was an undercover, kept saying he was from out of town, but he was at a local bar on college night lookin for yak...Either way my boy who was shitfaced started talkin numbers. i had to physically turn him away from the cop and proceeded to cus this fucker out til he finally gave up. I gotta say it was kinda fun to finally say whatever i wanted to the fucking cops.
Anyone else ever have a run in with an undercover?

Was this him?

yeah i got hassled in windsor one time hahah. me and my buddy were getting all kinds of drunk and this shady guy rolls up to us looking to push green on us. we just werent interested and he kept pushing saying how his stuff is the best yadddddyyaada. so my buddy asked if he was a cop, legally they have to tell you if you ask. all he did was turn around and walk away from us. we then continued to swear at him and demean his job hah

Undercover police are under no legal obligation to tell you if they are indeed an officer of the law. You n0oB! LAWLZ

well, if i read this situation right that is illigal, he could loose his badge. that kind of shit is super sketchy to do right nd it sounds like he failed..

sounds like a textbook case of entrapment to me, but you would still

probably get in trouble because who's word are they going to take as

fact, some kid who was dunk and sold drugs or an officer of the law who

is obviously a model citizen [sarcasm]

A person is 'entrapped' when he is induced or persuaded by law

enforcement officers or their agents to commit a crime that he had no

previous intent to commit; and the law as a matter of policy forbids

conviction in such a case.

However, there is no entrapment where a person is ready and willing to

break the law and the Government agents merely provide what appears to

be a favorable opportunity for the person to commit the crime. For

example, it is not entrapment for a Government agent to pretend to be

someone else and to offer, either directly or through an informer or

other decoy, to engage in an unlawful transaction with the person. So, a

person would not be a victim of entrapment if the person was ready,

willing and able to commit the crime charged in the indictment whenever

opportunity was afforded, and that Government officers or their agents

did no more than offer an opportunity.

On the other hand, if the evidence leaves a reasonable doubt whether the

person had any intent to commit the crime except for inducement or

persuasion on the part of some Government officer or agent, then the

person is not guilty.

In slightly different words: Even though someone may have [sold drugs],

as charged by the government, if it was the result of entrapment then he

is not guilty. Government agents entrapped him if three things

occurred:

- First, the idea for committing the crime came from the government

agents and not from the person accused of the crime.

- Second, the government agents then persuaded or talked the person into

committing the crime. Simply giving him the opportunity to commit the

crime is not the same as persuading him to commit the crime.

- And third, the person was not ready and willing to commit the crime

before the government agents spoke with him.

haha well our local skatepark was built in the middle of the hood, and i mean the hood. not kidding ive seen people beat with canes, guys beating girls, 5 black guys jumping one white guy, so the cops are down there all the time, under covers come down too to try and catch people, but they make it so obvious their cops. one will walk down by himself, first of all who would just walk down to a skatepark with no bike or skateboard, or without at kid or something. and they will just come up to us and be like, you guys know where i can find some marijuana, which is another dead giveaway, and then theyll just ask us for crack or herion. and we usually just tell them to get the fuck outta here and they leave us alone.

true. i just the read the situation as if one of my friends somehow produced a ball, theyd be cuffed, jailed and all the bullshit that goes along with it. conviction, although obviously the bulk of the issue, is still not the end of the problems dealing with that shit. what really set of the cop-dar was the price he was offering, and how he kept going up with almost no provocation.
