Under Armour

the worst thing ever is when you see little 8 to 13 year olds walking around wearing the tight heat gear stuff, shorts, sweatbands, and knee high socks. its one thing if you use the stuff for actually playing sports, but its ridiculous just to wear it around

my appolgies, i just don't have the time to sit on my ass infront of my TV in the winter to watch the x-games as i would rather than ski and i won't spend damn near $60 for a year subscription to Freeskier or Powder. so no, i have not seen the gear. all i have seen were the small ads in the SIA show magazine from this year's show

if they are trying to capture it, good for them. they make an awesome product and im probably going to grab a bunch of their base layer stuff this year for skiing and hockey.

i like their regular classic black longsleve compression top... thats it. that company is gettin really cocky

And after reviewing that link...

Their jackets are horrid. Worse looking than Columbia.

For our benefit though, they are putting more into freeskiing than they will be getting in return.

is it just me or does the tight stuff ride up a lil bit? like the long sleave shirt i got is nice and warm and wut not but it jsut creeps up and is super annoyin. am i too skinny? i dont know whats goin on

I have the same problem, I'm looking into getting something new this year. i used to think it was because I was too fat, but then I became skinny and I still have that issue.

over armour would be slightly more accurate.

bottom line = spend your money elsewhere. they're already laughing all the way to the bank

Casual skiers who are athletes in other sports and familiar with the brand will buy UA. Hockey, soccer and football players who go on a week long trip and need a jacket. There are a lot of these people.

Yeha, there are a ton more casual skiers than dedicated skiers.

And that's the market they will be capturing.

true, they might wear it. I got a freind that moved to B-more to work there. The stuffs going to be more tech - oriented. The materialz are pretty crazy technology. Wurd is the 2008 shit is nice. i'll stop by and check it out at SIA. they had some hottie models at the booth last year

agreed

but i wear thier long sleeve heat gear underneath everything cuz its super comfortable and it lets you move a whole lot better...

but yea if theyr goin into makin outerwear all i can say is thats a joke and to support the core companies like he said

Marketing is the most important part of a business.

A good marketing department can make shit look like silver.

they actually putting a lot of work into improving the line for next season, this being the first they got standard designers which turned out standard stuff, this year they're putting money into R&D and will have a better idea of what people want, and hopefully will produce better looking stuff.

here's the pic of dash in this years stuff:

Negative.

Support companies that put money into Freeskiing, who have a quality product.

If Under Armour outerwear ends up being quality, and they start turning out some nice looking threads, and sponsor athletes and put money into the sport, then we should be buying their stuff.

So currently, they just need to work on their designs and prove their gear is solid technically as outerwear.
