looking for an all around good budget ski jacket max like 200$

looking for a shell like gray jacket that looks like a mammut or fly low , well insulated, waterproof , and whatever other technical stuff i should look for in a jacket. can you guys suggest some dope jackets to get?

Flylow shells can be pretty cheap in their end of season sales. I got one for like $160 last april

Or go to a used ski store and buy whatever overstock they're selling

This.

Just wait a few weeks at this point, spring sales are already starting. Flylow is at 30% off right now, probably see 40% in a month. Also keep an eye on evo for deals, level nine as mentioned by

[tag=191934]@SofaKingSick[/tag] take a look at Sierra as well. What size do you wear? If it's not medium or large you'll have better opportunities.

should i get goretex?

where do you live (general region, i'm not coming to your house)? some places are cold or windy or wet enough that goretex and other more serious gear is helpful or needed but a lot of places don't. but also just generally i know from extensive experience that you can get good shit (10-20,000 waterproof/breathability) for a good price that isn't gore tex

live in colorado but ski in utah a lot! looking for something to be my main jacket. i’m usually fucking hot. but want something that’s good for everywhere and like everyone said can layer underneath. i really like the look of the flylow quantum jacket, but i wish i could find them in gray. i’ve been looking at more expensive 3L and gore tex stuff tho. i really would like to find something for 100$ as i’m pretty broke.

okay yeah so you live/ski in a place that can def get cold. i'd say get a high quality name brand shell that's got good waterproofing, and then layer underneath it. with that budget i'd say just keep trawling levelninesports and sierra

if you're set on flylow and can wait, you'll have better chances at finding the right one cheaper in a couple months as post-season prices take effect

That 686 everywear goretex shell

check on ebay, I recently got a really nice coat for 70 shipped, and it was probably worth around 200 (it was just old and used, but still in great condition) I wear it more than my goretex jacket. if you dont mind buying used definitely check ebay

hey man are these thick and wind and waterproof? what do you layer under?

I wear a down jacket, hoodie, fleece etc. under it, depends on the weather. It's a shell so it's thin and no insulation but definitely water and wind proof.

If you're broke, check out goodwill. Or also shopgoodwill.com. The thrift stores in mountain areas, especially rich areas have dope finds. Otherwise no reason you can't get a decent jacket with good ventilation from some knock off Chinese brand for $50 off Amazon. You're skiing CO and UT, not PNW so waterproofing isn't as big of a deal.

If you're broke, spending money you don't have on a nonessential item is kinda foolish tbh.

Check out resell apps like poshmark, mercari and depop. I have gotten all sorts of jackets on there for $100 and under. Latest cop was a orage b dog that some dude was selling for $50
