Ultimate ski-mobile

being realistic here..... if you could have any car for skiing what would it be? volkswagen van? subaru with a fat ski rack on the top?

im buying a new car and i cant decide what vehicle would be ideal for bumming around the mountains
 
I think the ultimate ski mobile would be a truck with a canopy on it. Could put a matress in the back and sleep in there so you dont have to pay to stay at a hostel. Thats what im gonna do this winter
 
Outback or vanagon. My friend has a vanagon and had the oppurtunity to get an out back for cutting his hair and he passed....pshh, I would have gotten it in a heart beat. But back to the point, out backs are super hot!
 
Subaru are the bomb in snow, they have the best awd. Trucks are sickbut they don't have weight in the back and can be bad if it slick out
 
I would not mind a audi s4 avant. or a toyota tundra converted to run on vegtibale oil. you could put a sled on the back. and store your skis back their or just put a canopy on and convert it to a living area.
 
it would be nice to run a tundra on veggie oil...to bad its not a diesel, which pretty much rules that out...unless you get the 8 foot bed you'll realize fast a tundra is not a sled truck...

well im runin the 99 dodge intrepid

holds 5 guys pretty comtrablely

holds all yours skis and snowboards up to 185 cm

all your gear like boots and clothers and stc. can go in the trunk cause its fuckin huge

and best of all i get about 27 to the gallon which is pretty good i think for a family size car fully loaded

and they run for ever im at 170000, my dads is at 210,000 there the way to go

and there cheap like 1000 bucks
 
i like my car.....fucking owns in snow and ice and rain

i think everyone has those cars because they're powerful and they kill it in the snow.......audi or subie is the way to go......get an awd system you can trust
 
a suburban with a thule put all your shit up top and put a matress in the back so you dont need to get a hotel and shit
 
exactly, one of the reasons i didnt get a wrx.

I love my GC, i got a brush guard for it. just need get it installed so now i can just hit shit without fear of losing my bumper. Also got a ski rack on the way in christmas
 
The ridgeline is the worst vehicle ever known to man. It's not a truck in anyway! The bed is small, the chassis would be better suited to a car, and you don’t even have the flexibility of an SUV! Definitely don’t buy a ridgeline.
 
vw bus vanagon their so sick fold down bed in the back, pop up roof that turns into a bed, stove, refridge, tables its sick nasty
 
those are way fun for camping but they have terrible mileage. And they are way slow going up canyons. I love to go camping in my friends, it is soo sick.
 
I've been driving an older Impreza for the last two winters, AWD and a rack on top. I actually pulled one of those Pathfinder Armadas (HUGE Nissan SUV) out of a ditch with my car and a tow cable, and my car has a pussy 1.8L engine. They're baller cars, when this one eventually blows up I'm getting another.
 
Oh and compared to the trucks everybody else is throwing around, Imprezas are decent on gas at like 25mpg.
