Does the Legacy 2.5gt come in a wagon?

Because In the U.S. we get the Subaru Legacy 2.5gt! It has the same 2.5l turbo 4 as the STI, and the same 6-speed manual transmission (with I believe the driver selectable torque split). And, they look fucking bad ass and are luxurious. Way sicker than the STI.
 
Yes and no...

You can get the engine from an STI in your Legacy, but it will be detuned to 265hp. If you get the wagon, your only option is the automatic tranny (unless you buy a first year model, used).
 
my ideal ski ride would be a v70r with a thule or an sti.

im happy with mine currently though

...you definetly dont need a 4x4, I have a propulsion 1994 chevy pickup with no blocked differential with 4 seasons in front and rear brake only so I have to put in in neutral to brake properly and managed to get/come back from jay peak on fucking blizzard and up north every weekend...and the roads are always sketchy. many times I had troubles, but there is not 1 hill that I didnt climb. when I go at 5o km it feels like 100. learn to drive with a piece of shit like this and when you get to drive a "real" car, you feel like in a hummer and everything is so easy. recently drove an azteck and civic...its like I were in a fucking tank. both times roads were hell and people sliding all over the place...was like a pimp rollin in his caddillac...
 
whats your price range? That would probably eliminate about 1/3 of the posts in here so far.

it wouldnt be that bad. i drive a nissan maxima with a 5-speed stick and, i shift at 4000-5000 in gears 1,2,3. but 4-5 at around 2500-3500. you have to admit, though, that redlining is fun
 
yeah the new 5 door sti is DOPE. personally im looking for an older impreza wagon. better fuel economy than the wrx. cheap as fuck. import a evo 9 wagon is your rich. and whoever said v70r you have good taste.
 
quit saying sti.   they aren't reasonable priced, get shitty mileage and aren't THAT good in the snow.           personally, a small 4cyl suv would be the best for you.   along the lines of a honda element. 
 
theyre fast as fuck thats why they get bad mileage. and if you threw some studded snow tires on it, it would be bitching in the snow. ever seen the wrc snow rallys?
 
they're fast as fuck because they have high performance engines that suck in lots of fuel.  all i'm saying is that there's tons of other options out there besides an sti that costs a good 15 grand more than most other things he'll be looking at. and studded snow tires work extremely well BECAUSE THEY'RE FUCKING STUDDED!   anything could rip the snow with them.   and he's definitely not going to be rolling on those because bottom line: they aren't practical for every day use.
 
I drive an 03 Outback and I really like it in the snow. This year I decided to get studded snow tires for it (totally unnecessary) and was able to take off through three feet of snow no problem--as long as I could see, I was good to go. I was consistently getting miles further into the mountains than people in their SUV's and trucks, and never once got anywhere close to getting stuck. In fact, I was hardly able to spin the tires save for the time we got freezing rain. You can get them with the four cylinder, which is kind of gutless, or the 6 like mine if you want a little more go.
 
You cant combine a sports car and a family/ski/cargo car, I've been trying for 5 years. Closest you'll come to is an S4 avant (wagon), volvo V70R, 330xi wagon, all AWD and sexy. The new subaru Legacy Wagons are extremely expensive for what you get, and although theyre great in snow so are the ones I mentioned. Also I already made a thread like this called 'ultimate skimobile'
