Ultimate all-round competition for best skier

These threads (who is the best all-round and so on) is pretty much up here (in SG) all the time, but it hits me that no one really puts on any kinds of criteria’s for judging this. So my idea is a contest like this:



Judged equally counting 1/3 each

One big mountain comp. like the freeride world tour (choose a line, do it fast with style and with sick drops and tricks)

One slope style com. With tricks, big jumps, jibs, rails ect.

One GS race.

Why big mountain? Well just like Tanner puts it in caps; IT’S REAL SKIING.

Why slope style? Because this incorporates so many different aspects of skiing. Like skills, creativity and style.

Why a race. Because this is the biggest sport in skiing and one that requires things like power, technique, skill, strength – the top guys on the alpine world cup are the ones in skiing who trains the hardest and make the biggest $.



So who will it be?

My guess would be Jon, Windstedt. Candide? Just don’t know how he would race. Darron Rahlves? just dont know his slope game
 
I think it would be pretty sick to see skiers doing this. However I feel like the racing will be sub-par because most racers won't want to "waste" their time with slopestyle or possibly even big mountain stuff(obviously except for Jon and I'm sure a few others".
 
Seeing pros ski in a whole different venue from what they're used to, out of their comfort zone, would be worth watching in itself.

Although I would think most pros have at least a small taste of all the different angles of skiing. would certainly be a good idea.
 
with racing as an element jon would clearly destroy. remove racing and maybe replace it with bumps and you bring a huge number of people into the picture.

but candide would still kill it
 
Well considering that most pros grew up ski racing I don't think the racing category would suffer in the sense of "freeskiers" runs, but vice versa it would aka racers sucking at slopestyle. Which leads me to say that Henrik WIndstedt would own anyone considering he was in X games a while ago and won the freeride tour last year./end thread
 
That statement is absolutely ridiculous. Jon is one of the best freestylers of all time, is good enough at racing to compete at the the fis level, and has won a few big mountain comps in europe.
 
Ok so racing is not hard?! Well so your like 2 sec. from Svindal in a gs comp, do you know what you talk about... I think a d. kork 12 is more easy than winning a worldcup race -the level of skil at the top is well just sick. the top race guys train so dam hard.
 
This would be dope it would actually give me a reason to watch ski racing and it would bring big mountain and slope into a bigger viewing venue
