Ugg boots, yay or nay?

every so often i see a little fashion article on my welcome screen that is doing something like listing the worst fashion trends that are declared officially dead or something like that. and I always see ugg boots on there. or hear someone say how ugly they are.

but girls continue to wear them, so obviously these know-it-all fashionistas dont have too much clout. what do you think? do they look good? i think too many girls wear them but I think they look hot on girls.

unfortunately the school uniform for girls in college seems to be ugg boots, big cube sunglasses, north face fleece, and bleached hair. which is ok in a sense that it looks good on cute girls, but its kinda lame that they all look the same.

Soooo true. I go to a huge university that isn't all that hard to get into, that is all you see...everywhere...all the time.
 
i agree on the uniform, Ugg boots looking good on girls, and these fashion "experts" not knowing shit. Uggs look good with the right outfit, fo sho...
 
Fugly. Sorry, not a fan of those things.

I guess the advantage is that you can wear them without socks, which is a plus. But I prefer sneakers and 'regular' shoes.
 
some of them arent bad when they dont have the fur and when the girl has her pant legs down over them but other than that i dont like them at all
 
haha i'm glad this is what this thread is about....b/c someone mentioned something about guy uggs to me the other day...which is obvioiusly retarded, but i guess a few guys (prob gay) are wearing them now. when i saw the title of the thread i was hoping nobody on ns was thinking about strappin on some uggs....

my opinion...they look good on girls sometimes, but they sometimes girls wear them with anything and it looks gay
 
as part of the official college girl uniform, they look good on good looking girls. Anything looks good on good looking girls though. They're kinda fucking stupid.
 
you dont knock man uggs, they have a pair that are like mocasins, but lined with the fleecy shit. My shop i work at carries uggs for some reason, prolly cause of the rich uppies, but the man ones are decent.
 
haha, the amount of girls i've had compliment me on my white sunglasses is sickening. you couldn't be more wrong.
 
im not gay and i wear a pair of ugg slippers all winter. They're sick, u never need socks and your feet still stay warm. I think theyre called scuff romeos, the tan ones. As long as I know im not gonna be treking through mad snow I wear em everywhere, they're especially key for campus. If your like me and could give two shits what people think about your clothing, you should check em out.
 
haha, this is hilarious because i just saw a group of like 15 girls walking and about 10 of them were wearing uggs. i hate those damn boots.

Also ive seen a lot of girls wearing rain boots. like strait up rubber rain boots in various colors including camo. i think next spring we're gonna be seeing as many rain boots as we have ugg boots
 
yep. my sister was at the mall the other day and she said there were rainboots going for like 200 bucks. what the fuck.

i hate fashion.
 
he nailed it. ugg boots are terrible....the rest if fine but those stupid ass boots are everywhere.

i actually really like the ugg boots... i think they look really cute, but it depends on what they're wearing, and the girl...

if the girl weights in at one metric tonne, i'm sorry but she cannot pull of uggs...
 
uggs are ugly in my opinion for a fashion statement. If a girl is in some sweats and wearing them to stay warm they're all right.
 
I think they can be real hot on some girls, but the fact that they are like the same price as my snowboard boots is rediculous considering there is nothing to them. so NAY.
 
i think Uggs are the ugliest boots/shoes ever, well almost ever. like the word Ugg pretty muhc comes from the word ugly. I also hate those cubed sunglasses, they just make you look all pompous and stuckup
 
they go good with liek short skirts or short shorts which is kinda wierd how they are a winter clothing they look realy gay with pants on
 
i just bought boots that i like, but a lot would consider ugly. whenever peopl e call me out on it i just say "well if girls can get away with wearing ugg boots"
 
I think they're alright if they are tucked into the pant leg. If the girl is wearing them outside the pants to make a fashion statement they are horrendously ugly.
 
just to clarify for everyone who thinks Ugg makes one style of boots, they actually make some sick footwear. i realize you're talking about the Classic, Ultimate, Ultra, or Sunburst women's boots, but by saying that all Ugg boots are gay you're actually saying that you're ignorant when it comes to fashion. congrats.

i know because i pay attention to that kinda stuff. you all know all about what hoodies to buy this year and shit like that... ever think of paying attention to shoes, too? shoes are the shit, end of story.

second they look comfortable so who cares?

well ugs started out for guys. afta surfing in australia n shit coming out of the cold water in the winter and walking on the rocky beaches, it was a relief to put their feet into the ugg boots, and then they came out with a girls line, bet you didnt know that !
 
i don't have a boner for Ugg... well, i kinda do, but that's more for shoes and shit in general... check out Mark Nason if you want to see some REALLY sick kicks... but that's beside the point. i'm just blown away that you seem to think they only make ONE kind of boot. they make a whole bunch of boots, shoes, and slippers and i'd go so far as to say that they make some stuff you'd probably dig. why do people get so defensive and turn into assholes when they're being educated? if only you knew the info i'm trying to pass on could help you get laid...
